Part of why the writing felt so authentic is that the characters are based on real-life experiences and people from the lives of the 2 show creators. Yes, episodes get better, deeper and filled with LOTS of celebrity appearances.

Possibly one of my favorite sitcoms. It's just so hilarious. The comedic timing, especially the chemistry between Will, Grace, Jack, & Karen, and it does have its serious moments and situations throughout, so you're right that this pilot does capture the show overall. You definitely caught on Will & Grace and the special relationship between the two. Hope you continue it because as funny as it is, I find it to be really underrated, even if it did come back as a revival for a couple of seasons a few years back...

Will & Grace came out in 1998 and ran for 8 seasons until 2006.
There was a reboot in 2017 and ran for 3 seasons.
