  • FIRST TIME REMOVING THE CANOPY ! MITS ALLOY JACK OFF CANOPY.
    This is my first time removing the canopy from the tray, I was keen to see what the truck looks like with out the canopy.
    These jack off style canopy’s make your truck extremely useful over a full time canopy. You could also consider having a work canopy set up this would make the tray canopy so versatile to swap between set ups for both work and play.

    I discovered this awesome product not too long ago and before I jumped down the rabbit hole, that was my first thought, am I sacrificing the practicality of a pick up for this. This is a perfect solution! I have thought long and hard how to make my 2004 f350 more overland without giving up the bed as it is my daily driver too. Time to start saving up. Thanks for the walk around too, amazing content!

    Hey mate. I love the jack off canopy setups. I have one back home that I couldn’t take on the road as it was too heavy so I had to get a lighter one. Planning on doing the two canopy setup once we settle back into a house and I have to work again. I got much cheaper canopies than what I imagine yours would cost lol.

    Should of done a re mounting video of the canopy to the tray. I wonder how fidgety it is getting it lined up and back on. For example, lifting the canopy off and leaving it at the beach camp while going for a 4by minus the weight in the rear. Id imagine lining it all up to remount would be a pita?

    hey mate,
    this is awesome, I have a cheap canopy I got that doesn't have lift off points, however I am looking into adding some by drilling the canopy and adding in the aluminium tubing and altering some normal lift off legs.
    There is just a couple things I need to know to do it.
    I was wondering if you could be a massive help to me with two measurements?
    I am curious what the width of the frame or sides, (Pillars next to the canopy door) is?
    Also if possible what the inner diameter of the jack off holes is?

    • @TyFenwick
      @TyFenwick  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey mate,
      Yeah running solar panel on the roof on the RTT.
      With importing old vehicles I don’t have any experience unfortunately. My F250 was imported by a company not myself.

    • @krump7429
      @krump7429 Před 4 lety

      Ive imported an evo from japan before. Go through an importing company. Dont do it yourself it will be way to expensive. A rough cost break down of the process. You have to pay the costs off in installments as each process is undertaken.
      The evo itself 11 grand aus $
      To have it shipped over, all the illegal bits stripped off it to aussie adr compliance, new tyres then passing it over the pits inspection and registering it ect was about 13 grand aus $.
      The one risk with importing a vehicle is you dont actually know what your getting, i did it through a company who has an agent in japan that goes to a car auction, they then took photos of the available car and then this gets forwarded on to you that fit into the budget you previously stated you are willing to spend. They class the vehicles a different rating 1 being poor and 5 being immaculate i got a 3/4 rated evo. They sent pics of the car and also the seats inside and also any lil minor cosmetic damage that maybe be on the vehicle then they tell you you only have x amount of time to put a bid in yes or no. Its then up to u to decide whether u want it or not. The risk you take is you dont know what ur getting. So need to budget a few grand to allow for repairs. My evo needed new brake pads and rotors and 4 new tyres, cause u purchase it as is warts and all.
      That is my experience with importing a vehicle into the country. I got an evo 6 for about 22k aussie dollars which wasnt too bad but it was kinda risky as i didnt know what i was getting. Not sure what its like getting it from america probably the same kinda process.

    A lot of irony in spending that much money to go out into the bush and sleep in a tent, or you could have a second hand offroad van for the same money... doesn't make any sense. You can't even load it up with firewood etc, could only imagine it would make it a lot scarier trying to climb some of the wilder grades too
