This is episode 5 of our 15 day Meghalaya tour, Date of travel: 1st september 2019.
We all know that Sohra was once known to be the highest rainfall in the world, now the title of wettest place on earth is with Mawsynram.
We spoke to Mr. Denis - owner of Cherrapunjee holiday resort and understand the meteorological reason for the same, there after he took us to show Limestone karst area.
Limestone karst area was about 15 km from Cherrapunjee holiday resort, there after we dropped him to his resort and left to see Kynrem water fall, then Seven sisters waterfall and then finally moved towards Mawlynnong.

Mawlynnong: There are about 100 houses at this village and about 30 homestays, if you want to stay there overnight, it will be better if you do online booking, especially when you are going in peak season time.
In my opinion, you may go to this village, spend 2 hours there and then move on to next destination.

ati uttam very easily explained as to why cherapunjee receives lot of rains and so informative...clouds from bay of bengal and arabian sea are blocked by mountains and cool air from himalayas condense and there is precipitation at night....😍👌🏻👍🏻

Meghalaya, and the rest of North eastern states of India, are home to many such uncharted, unexplored, treasure troves of natural beauty...........I had visited Shillong in Dec 18-Jan 19 period............absolutely breathtaking experience............compared to the usual Hills and mountains of other states, this is a journey of pure bliss and solitude.........the people are nice and friendly, have a simple and uncomplicated take on life..............we should learn something from them
