I honestly believe Taken By A Stranger could’ve won in a later Eurovision - it was plagued by her winning the year before and being the host entry with a song so ahead of its time
Not sure. She could have won that year if she hadn't won the year before, but that was also a very weak year.
lys assia not returning for 2012/13 is honestly really sad, she's great person and seeing her appear in modern eurovision would've been awesome

I love how multiple non-swedish winners have been in the swedish qualifiers...
Some of them grew up in sweden. Like th greek winner.
Also Alannah Myles (famous for her hit song Black Velvet). Melodifestivalen seems to attract a lot of prolific acts.
Sucks that Switzerland didnt pick Lys Assia again after all those years :(

Alexander Rybak made a comeback in 2018 and finished 15th.
And Charlotte returned to MF this year with Still Young.
If Loreen wins Melodifestivalen this year with Tattoo, she might also join the list!

I think this needs an update. For one, Izhar Cohen actually tried again in 1996 and Elisabeth Andreassen tried again in 2015. And just this year, Alexander Rybak got another chance to represent Norway!
Thanks for informing about Izhar Cohen in 1996! The song seems to be "Alpayim". Elisabeth Andreassen and "All Over the World" was noted in the comments, too. And Alexander Rybak should be added of course. :)
This is what (and what would have been) our Eurovision Network conventions were all about, such sweet happy memories and long live Melodifestivalen!
It's probably the same. That song referenced tons of Eurovision entries. Petra's outfit was one of those.

Lauri Pihlap from 2XL also did a few Eesti Laul songs solo, from what I recall Lootus in 2013 (loved that one) and I believe one in 2022 as well.
