- In this video I go over the basic additions Sig Sauer made to it's popular P365 model in order for it to be California compliant.
Other things to note I did not mention in the video:
The pistol comes with two 10 round magazines.
As well as XRAY 3 day/night sights.
You can see all the details of the gun here.

Thx for the video! Very cool and answers all my questions.
You're welcome.
Picked up mine today. Thx for video
sure thing.
Do you guys know which streamlight fits? Is it the 1913 version?
@@jasonharrold6686 I know the TLR6 fits
Just ordered mine today!!
How do you like it??
Great video. Do you know if this build base on some of the old sig models?
It’s optic ready too! That’s one difference from the original version, unless you get the p365X. We got the best of both worlds, except the magazine disconnect and all that loaded crap that sky rocketed the price.
@ravensfuntime4762 Yeah. P365s are not that high in price usually. Not cheap, no SIG is cheap, but all that extra safety feature stuff adds to the cost.
@@rbm6184 It's not just the safety features... it's also the cost of being extorted in order to get it (and the M18) on the roster.
Nice video man. Will be getting mine from turners soon
Got mine from sportsmen’s. 699 instead of 749 at Turners
It’s also different on how to field strip. Since you can’t pull the trigger while the slide is open, you also can’t move the slide forward to disassemble!!!
Which streamlight fits in it? The specs are funky. The rail isnt thesame as thexl right?
The flat trigger will not work with it unless you remove the mag safety.
Picking mine up on the 30th 😁 can’t wait
The recoil spring is hard to rack the slide.
Picking mine up tomorrow. I wonder if you can change the grip! Want to get a Wilson combat grip for it!
Yes but you have to delete the mag disconnect and probably safety. Mag d I know can be removed and I'm pretty sure the safety as well. There are tutorials here.
Damn imagine you get denied when you go tomorrow 😂😂 na jk bro
The Magazine Disconnect must be removed to use standard Grip Modules. There's a very good detailed video on how to do that available if you search. And you can get most Grips with or without a safety cutout.
Im in cali and own a p365 xl with the Wilson combat module. Love it
You can order a Wilson grip with either the Manuel safety or without. And as far as the magazine disconnect, you can modify the grip to accept it. But I don't recommend it. It's more of a liability than a safety feature
Wilson Combat P365XL grip module showed up, damn so much nicer. You do have to buy yourself 10 round P365XL mags (Sig makes em) tho because the grip is longer in a way that won’t allow the stock mags in. Wilson also offers a 1.5 oz of tungsten weight kit to shove in the grip because the gun is rather top heavy.
All in all you get a pistol that’s still smaller than the Shield with 8 round mags, about the same quality of grip but with a mag well that could hold 12 when Duncan V Bonta is resolved. You DO have to give up the MDM for this to work unless you want to file a notch in the grip module so the MDM can be retained.
I suspect Wilson will eventually offer a module with that area notched. Until then, file it down, or dump the MDM. I did the latter while installing the Sig OEM flat faced trigger, easy peasy,
To convert your P365 to the P365XL did you also have to buy an aftermarket slide? Or just the grip module and magazine?
@@The10RoundShooterstock slide will come flush to the end of the WC 365 XL grip. So yeah all you need is the longer 10 round (it’s a dimpled 12 round) magazine from Sig. it’s kinda nice man because the Sig mag with the pinkie provision the texture doesn’t match the WC the 10 round (12 round capped) Sig mag is very flush so the whole thing looks super clean. All you need is the WC module and the 10 round XL mag and you need to either remove the MDM or file on the WC to create the channel to clear that hardware. I just chucked the MDM and installed an Sig flat trigger works great!
@@JamesReedy Thats good news man I want to do the same setup as you but I was scared of fitment issues …Thanks🙏🏽 Now I can order all the parts with confidence.
@@The10RoundShooter happy to help man. I was worried the flat trigger might not work but it did, just had to chance it lol. Not sure you could add the MDM back to the flat trigger but I didn’t care.
I don’t see how the MDM could have any bearing legally if Heaven forbid I had to defend myself. It only applies to loading/unloading the gun and that’s not generally an element of a shoot.
The Wilson XL mag is still more compact than a Shield with an 8 round mag…and when Duncan resolves we’ll be 12+1 which is nice.
I got both grip modules as well as the tungsten weights, just in case I want to trim the gun down a smidge.
You can get different magazine base plates that work with the WC grip. I have the XL grip on mine
Can’t wait to get mine next week
Anyone else having issues with the loaded chamber indicator? It gets in the way of my front sight. Not a fan. Also the slide release took awhile to loosen up. It was really stiff at first.
Any updates?
I’ve only had a chance to shoot 100 rounds but I’ve noticed that the side release won’t go down on an empty magazine. It will also take some time to get used to sights with the loaded chamber indicator up. Just have to keep training.
Nice review, I just ordered one here in CA. What is a good smaller optic compatible with it?
I heard the optic blocks the loaded barrel .. which is dope!
@SoCalMikey Most likely a SIG Romeo. But I prefer the nice Tritium day/night glow in the dark iron sights that come standard on it for carry on mine. For a concealed pistol an optic adds bulk to a gun you are trying to hide on your body and it adds a major snag point on clothing. I am further not a big fan of red dots or optics because I have had red dots wash out in bright sunlight. Then there is the battery life to consider and any impact damage or water damage to consider.
Thanks!
@@SoCalMikey I have heard some folks say they prefer a Holosun optic over a SIG Romeo but since I don't use red dots myself I can't really give you a suggestion on what is good. I have just shot other folks guns with red dots on them and I do know they can wash out in sunlight and many of them don't hold zero very well so I guess you should pick and choose one wisely if you go with it.
Thanks, I may try the Holosun EPS carry. I saw one today on a P365 CA version in a store and it looked small, enclosed and the LCI was still functioning fine.
In other states the p365 doesn't have the manual safety, and the trigger safety like glocks have is standard on a lot of striker fired pistols since they don't have a manual safety typically.
Here in Virginia I bought a p365xl it has no safety it fires without the magazine doesn’t show when loaded and has a 12 round capacity but I’m pretty sure there are larger capacity magazines for sale and there is no safety trigger
Sig makes a 17 round mag for em.
does the loaded chamber indicator prevent installing a red dot?
Nope it does not
Yes nismor3490 is correct. You can still install a red dot.
It actuallly blocks that annoying thing from popping up lol
@@PokeSleepDealsnot really. You can either yeet the thing off when you install the red dot (the plate holds it down) or you can install the red dot over it and it functions as it did with the blank plate. It does not at least on the Holosun 507K protrude into the sight picture.
🔥
Waiting for the gray frame for mine, the first thing i did was remove the dumb mag disconnect "safety"
Ya I took mine out as well. Went to install the flat trigger and it won’t work with it installed.
@head7502 no way that sucks i was considering that next, but yeah the gray frame worked for me just dropped in the FCU
Been thinking about getting one just got the p320 like a month ago I think ima wait to get the Springfield hellcat
Yea bro idk witch to get. Really dig the hellcat looks so fire but the 365 has less felt recoil making it easier to handle. And looks really good as well
@@lcalpyroo2057 Well the smaller the gun the harder it is to shoot so it takes more practice to stay proficient because accuracy is a perishable skill. Yes my 365 micro 9 recoil is manageable and not as bad as it may look but all small guns are snappy with some muzzle flip. But recovery time for sights on target between shots is longer with greater muzzle flip. The shorter sight radius does not seem to affect its accuracy as much as I thought it would. The shorter barrel means less velocity and muzzle energy but with 9mm the velocity at the muzzle is still right around 1000fps. I have over 600 rounds of various ammo through it and its still flawless. Yes I like mine. Right now it is my main carry because nothing beats it in size and capacity. A Taurus GX4 is probably its equal if not close to it. I carry my P365 in a Kusiak leather signature minimalist IWB holster made specifically for that pistol and no other. Really great small comfortable and quiet holster.
@@rbm6184 thanks dude appreciate the response. I am fairly new to owning handguns, my license actually just came through not to long ago. That being said I’m battling the countless choices 🤣
@@lcalpyroo2057 Forgot to mention, if I go OWB with it on a belt then I use a Bulldog leather slide holster for it. I also have a BugBite neoprene calf holster for it if I want to go that route. Hopefully these will help with your choices but you may not like my preferences. Best of luck.
@@lcalpyroo2057 ya I want the 365 it’s like a baby p320 but I want somethkng diffrent ima get the hellcat lol
How does preventing the gun from shooting when there’s no magazine help anyone ? I literally need to know how that makes sense in California
It's gradual conditioning. This is how you introduce Communism. Just look at Teslas...ever wonder why they all look the same (except for 5 basic colors)? It's conditioning to take away your freedom of customization. To make you comply.
Which gun would u say is the absolute best for ca ccw out of the new ones that were just added?
Great review!! Thanks.
That safety trigger thing is concerning. I don’t think I like that. Is that just for ca? Also, is the clip stop an issue when shooting? Thanks
Hi. I honestly can't say which gun is the best out of the new ones there were added. As I've only shot the 365. But I really like the way it shoots. I have not had any issues with the clip stop when shooting.
P365, Ruger Max 9 or Hellcat.
VP9sk and P365. Personally, i don't like the trigger on the Hellcat.
What holster are you using and have you put a red dot on?
I got a FDO Industries holster, but have not gotten a red dot.
@@odeed Thanks I will now sub.
Anxiously waiting on mine, quick question: I noticed that one mag has the pinky extension, does it come with one of each? Thanks!
Yes. One is flat, while the other has the extension.
@@Snapper314 Thanks for the response, one mag of each is quite a bonus on a new gun, especially a CA-specific one (we usually get hosed!). Great video!
Wonder how reliable this is? It’s not considered a new gun, just has features that make it California compliant, right? The 43x’s grip prints way too much for me
It’s basically the exact same gun. The LCI you can remove easily. Just remove the optic plate, tip the gun over and it all falls out then put the plate back on.
Removing the MDM is a bit more involved but not at all bad imho. If you have good mechanical aptitude you can easily do the work yourself.
I didn’t try but I think even the flat trigger had room for the MDM but I could be mistaken. The only real super hard difference is the grip modules have a channel where the MDM protrudes from the trigger pivot pin into the front area of the mag well. IMHO that’s a compromise in strength, on the free state guns this area is solid.
the magazine disconnect feature is a major safety concern for me i cant own a pistol with that
How is it a safety concern? (Genuine question)
@@iProHydroshould the magazine rease get pressed in a fight for your life, you won't be able to fire that round to stop the threat. None of the older guns have this. It's just some BS that Newsom and Bonta came up with
The next question would be, how much you paid for it? An arm or a leg or both?
2:43
Tell me you never paid attention in class without telling me you never paid attention in class.
I paid 740 for mine
Damn. I paid $515 for mine in Kansas@@Jjsaba2008
$699 @ Sportsman Warehouse
The mag disconnect, and the LCI (Loaded Chamber indicator) and a 10 rd mag...are the things that make it CA compliant. The safty is not part of the CA law. The XD does not have a safety and it has been been on the pistol roster for quite some time.
It's harder to find a P365 with a thumb safety than one without in the normal states
i like the safety... thats just me tho.
Remove the FCU and get a new grip + magazine
Not compatible because of the MDM. That said I suspect if you remove the MDM paddle from the trigger group it should work. I sure as shit hope because I bought a Wilson grip module and Sig flat face trigger.
@@JamesReedy leaving California might help, just keep away from Massghanistan

@@JamesReedy same but I’m in Hell, I mean Massachusetts.
@@DemolitionDaddy69 ooof yeah, nearly as bad Bay Area California (SoCal Native) that said I’m || far from getting my CCW so IMHO progress. Done with the police interview, psych test, and 1:1 meeting with the shrink. Barring her saying no just, livescan (already passed from getting my FFL03+COE) 16 hours of instruction and live fire and permit issuance. Then again once I have it SB-2 will make it near impossible to carry anywhere.
6 foot and 480 pounds is pretty big
i think my brother has that one...PEACE from Him Lo of DA BUZE BRUVAZ .. HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Happy holidays, homie.
Sig Sauer
Yes -any no restrictive state will have the option on external manual safty or not, I never see them unless the are for sale in a store. In addition, the "Other Sigs, like any other gun will fire with one in the chamber, most pistols do have a port so you can see in a bullet is in the chamber. This gun is great for CCW. I hope you get you permit. I understand it is very hard. Thank God my brother is LAPD Air Support, as well as some ground work. Naturally he gets what he wants-cgeaper. The department will install & clean his weapons for free,-as well thet should, dealing with what he has to do daily. Even when off duty-he has to arrest people.
The safety is good by not having clothing snag on the trigger when reholstering. Once in the holster disengage the safety. Definitely remove the mag disconnect. I would also remove the lci.
DOES ANYONE KNOW If they have the P365x CA complaint ?? Plz and thanks
I heard 6ft 480lbs 😂
Lol.
Knew a guy like that once, bus driver, would crack Hotel toilet seats on trips, vanilla gorilla
It’s another g26
6’4 480 pounds
You just have to buy it California compliant. You can remove the magazine disconnect and you can do the safety delete if you want. Can even remove the LCI, but you’ll be left with a hole on the top. You can buy a new non cali compliant and turn it into the same gun every other state has if you want to drop more money in it.
For the LCI removal I'm installing a Holosun red dot.
If you don’t like external safeties, don’t use it… or buy a Glock.
Getting mine in a week and I’m going to un-Kalifornistan it. Simply don’t like those silly LOADED WHEN UP fins or the mag disconnect.
So happy I don’t live in California
