I love Episode 6. I first saw it at a Doctor Who convention in 1982 soon after it been returned to the BBC when my only other 1st Doctor experience had been the first story at a 1979 convention and then again in 1981's Five Faces seaon and so much enjoyed seeing the TARDIS team working as a team, liking each other and thoroughly at home time travelling.

Congrats on completing Season 1 Marty. S2 is almost intact in the archive and there aren't any animations for the few missing episodes just photo recons. S3 is a different matter.
The French revolution and the rise of Napoleon is a complex piece of history and the story takes a number of shortcuts, so it isn't particularly accurate although it provides a bit of context.
Giving Barbara a personal connection to Leon helped made a good point for the audience. The various factions in such a turbulent historical era are not always clearly defined as good and evil. Ian also makes a point that just being there must involve taking sides, even if they want to stay neutral. In this adventure, it is circumstances and personal connections that have largely dictated where their allegiances have been. IMO a great piece of conflict especially when you consider Barbara and Ian both have some knowledge of future events. They are aware of who history will remember as the winners and the losers. They might just be human and not as knowledgeable as the Doctor but as time travellers they also have a responsibility to that future.
It is just a bit of nonsense to tie them into the story but I do love watching the team go 'undercover' near the end.

I highly recommend The Titfield Thunderbolt (1953).

Better to watch An Adventure In Space & Time once you get up to the second Doctor since it goes all the way uo to there. Plus it has a lot of references to Hartnell's later stories and other comapnions you haven't met yet.

Thank you Angelus, yeah that's what I meant to say, as I'd looked into the time that it covered and it did seem to be the whole run of Hartnell, which I believe is about halfway through Season 4. Thank you so much for letting me know though, it's very much appreciated. I didn't know it referenced other companions too, that'll be great to see. The whole thing will be!
      Also, thank you for watching!

The plot point of caught/escape is annoying in any show or film-they are just killing time. I've seen both 'snap' and animated versions of Doctor Who and to me it doesn't matter which because we get to see the episode, either way it's a win! I LOVE Hartnell's doctor but I'm looking forward to Troughton.

Telesnaps are a bit painful to watch.
