When Floor sings you don't just hear it, you feel it. It always feels like she is singing just to you.
At 61 I have heard a lot of music. About 2 years ago I stumbled on Nightwish and Floor absolutely is by far one of the best singers and human. Brings tears to my eyes so many times. No other singer has ever done that 🤘🤘🤘

Floor, a good mic (pretty decent) and a home recording studio is all you need. Or perhaps it gets even better with "Beste Zangers 2019", when she mesmerized everyone. No doubt you've got some BZ19 requests already. You'll love those performances even more when you get the English-subbed versions with the before/after banter. Great way to get some context with the songs and lovely interaction between all the singers.
So there's this channel by the famed Jennie Noppers called "Floor op TV". Over there, you'll see a playlist aptly titled "Beste Zangers 2019". I suggest "Vilja Lied" for starters (since it was the first episode of the show when the others got to know Floor. Only Tim Akkerman knew her beforehand). Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘

The music of Nightwish helped me to get out of an almost five year lasting depression. One day I was walking my dog with "Storytime" on my headphone and started skipping and dancing, feeling energetic for the first time after all those gloomy years. As if a heavy weight fell of my shoulders. It felt like magic. The poetry and music of Tuomas and the emotional voice of Floor, it's so uplifting and empowering.

Floor does a very good cover of Adagio, although I prefer the live version of the Lara Fabian concert. They are both immense artists, each in their own musical style...
The original by Lara Fabian is one of my favourite songs by her, but Floor did it at least just as good. She's just incredible! Btw, this is one of Floor's covers where music was done by Tommy Johansson 😃

She's a queen. Just beautiful. I do wish I could reach in and nudge the music track levels down about 10%, or her vocal track up. Several of her COVID days from-home releases needed that, IMO. Don't get me wrong. I'm happy she did them and I enjoy them. They're just one touch of a slider away from perfection, IMO. I hope they tweak it if there's a compilation release someday. (-;

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly".
This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace.
The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself.
The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance).
But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , …
They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love.

Well of course the Adagio was actually written by Giazotto and attributed by him to Albinoni, possibly to publicise his biography of Albinoni .
So it's a cover of a cover.
I prefer Floor's version to Lara's.
Talking of singing anything, have you seen the video where a TV presenter gives Floor the Dutch phone book and she starts at latter A?
Hah. Tomaso Albinoni was born in 1671 and Remo Giazotto in 1910... It was Albinoni's Bass part what inspired Giazotto compose this piece. And that composition is the base for Lara Fabian's Adagio with Lara's lyrics. And only cover which is even close to Lara's is Gabriela Gunčíková's. And all covers are made in studios...

As to "Lara's lyrics" - debatable - several people were involved in the arrangement and lyrics.
You are right about the composition, but the text is by Lara Fabian, and she wrote a separate Italian version.
This singer has a cute voice, with some vocal technique for what it shows, although I may be mistaken for this to be a playback, but other than that it is a decent cover of Mrs Lara Fabian Adágio. This singer made a good effort, very well, it could be better if she didn't try to copy the way Mrs Lara Fabian sings Adagio live. It is good to see reactions to singers who are not well known
I think you're looking at it too heavy. I think Floor sees this more as an ode to Lara Fabian, not a copy. Floor has so much baggage and experience.
