Huge respect for not only offering to do this for customers, but also for showing everyone HOW to do it themselves!
That's why I like Micro Center. They know their customers
And they did it only for $50 that’s insane it’s like a no-brainer to go have them do it what the hell
@@gatesroyaleya those prices are surprisingly fair.
@MrLammz Bro, I'm a little sad. I can't order from them online and I don't live in california. Rip.
@@gatesroyale Same. I'm in Canada and only the 512 option is available here. That's what I bought and a week later my drive is almost full. So I'll buy a 2tb ssd eventually, but then I'll have an extra 512 that I have no use for. 😪
You really don’t necessarily need to remove to both drives if you don’t have 2 enclosures. Install everything on your legion then use this software to clone it to the new drive connected to it this way is also faster
thank u
You can clone it first without removing and then just swap if you want to go faster.
would you just attach the nvme enclosure on the legion go to use the cloning software straight from the device?
@@ItsCOATED yes, just use a usb c nvme enclosure you can just plug in and clone.
Absolutely 👍
Exactly!Work smarter,not harder!
Your comment saved me time. Good thing i read this before upgrading my ssd to 2TB
3:10 the fan was still running
It stops running at 3:33
Perfect timing for new owners of the Legion Go!
I’ll be doing this upgrade as soon as I get my Legion Go.
Great Video!
What a fantastic video! Thank you for the in depth information and easy to follow walkthrough!
Big ups pimpin, I have the 1tb model but I'm beyond excited to see people push this amazing tech waay past its limits
This may be one of the most clear and easy to follow tutorial videos I’ve ever seen on CZcams. Please, more of this! I used to live near a Microcenter, please come to Austin, TX! Lower competition since our Fry’s closed. :) #iwantamicrocenternearme
I bet your best buy is still open 😏
@@ZackWolfMusic Shh, don't let them know. Tryn'a get a MC down here. :D
@@fortunado21 There are Micro center stores in Dallas and Houston!
Great video. Thank you for making this!
I got one. Thank you, Micro Center 🙏
Nice one Micro Centre 😊 Wish you would come to the UK 😊
WOW, you was disassembling a device while it's still on!! cool instruction ;)
This is good business, well done Microcenter.
This is such a helpful tutorial, please can we have a Microcenter in the UK? Microcenter looks so much better than our PC markets!
I want a microcenter near me, but I did just buy the 2tb version from the Richardson location keep the vids coming
I HAVE a Microcenter near me and I LOVE IT!
I like what you guys are doing for the Lenovo Legion Go. Nice work! I’m curious to learn of future device mods for 2280 SSD’s.
there is no space for a 2280 mod...
you can have a sidemounted spacer. which allows it to sit over the battery @@ViXoZuDo
@ViXoZuDo That is the miracle with mods, there is always a solution 😁
@@Cemruto There is no room inside for a 2280 like the rog ally. The only way to fit a 2280 inside the legion go would be cutting a hole in the backplate basically destroying the device... if you're going to do that, just get an external SSD.
@@ViXoZuDo
You might be correct, we'll have to see if someone comes up with something. It really depends on how much clearance there is between the back panel and the battery. If you could fit a right-angled m.2 extender, then in theory could fit a 2280. But we just don't know yet.
Or maybe someone will start selling a backplate that is 2mm thicker and allows for the m.2 extension. We'll see.
The reason we might want this over an external NVME, is because of a couple of reasons. 1-portability is better. 2-eGPU support would rely on the USB4 slot as it only has one.
Its nice that they offer this and show how. But it feels a step backwards from the steam deck image download, and the rog auto cloud download for a new image.
🎉 very useful video, Thank !
Thank you for this! I might order a legion go from Amazon the base model since I prefer to do my own upgrades. :)
Thank you for making this video. I look forward to purchasing and owning this amazing handheld pc❤ Im sad there's no Micro Center store in Puerto Rico 😢 We have a best buy at least. The videos i've seen of the MicroCenter stores make it look like the adult version of Toyrs r Us.
Yes the Micro store near me is very nice!
Need Microcenter in Alaska
Thanks for this.
i just upgraded my legion go by myself and i haven't done anything like this ever. so i was kinds scared of breaking someting. but i did it, thanks to this video.
unfortunatly i did not find a 2242. but i did find a 2230. so i had to buy a extender for it aswell. but everything works.
now to find out witch games i want to instal on it.
ive been playing cyberpunk 2077 on it for the past week. and i love that it can play it. even though it is on low settings. but still. pretty awesome.
as a truckdriver i am away from home alot. so i cant really play on my pc. this lenovo legion go is one of my best purchases i did.
also, i live in the netherlands and we don't have any micro centers here. so i had to do it myself. also my to go tech company did not want to do it for me, even they said is was to risky.
I would LOVE a MicroCentwr near me in South Korea. It would do so well here. Possibly also consider international shipping. I was able to buy the upgraded legion go from you guys I would, and then have it shipped to South Korea.
We need this store in Canada!!
Thanks for the Macrium tips, very helpful. You can do it with one USB drive though. I just connected my new drive directly to the legion go, installed macrium on there, and cloned it. Took 12 minutes.
well! I am gonna replace new ssd 2tb for legion go and your instructions are super clear :D thanks. but one thing we can clone to 2Tb ssd on legion go :))
Picked mine up today, and went with the 2 TB option since it was cheaper than getting the 512 and doing it myself . It's an amazing device, just a heads up to put the Software keyboard option in the taskbar for easier access to it.
I was wondering hve you had any problem ? I mean I know that the lgo has recently been in the market... I love the big screen and the characteristics, but should I go for the ally or Legion go ?
@@aliceweiss6711 I don't have an Ally, so I really can't compare the 2. The Legion Go , I haven't had any problems with it as of yet. Check the reviews to decide which one fits best for you. If you're into D-I-Y you could buy the cheapest Steam Deck and do the 2TB SSD Upgrade , and replace the Sticks with Hall Effect Kit, and put Windows on it for about $100-$200 cheaper than either the Go or the Ally, and have comparable performance, but the SteamDeck is the least powerful of the 3
Handy tip: You can press the left Legion button and B simultaneously to bring up the onscreen keyboard!
#iwantamicrocentrenearme UK please 😊
@@aliceweiss6711they have the same processor so the performance is literally almost the same. It’s just the screen resolution, size and frame rate are different. Also the legion go has a built in stand and removable controllers. Those are the few reasons why I went with the legion go. I wish I went with the 2TB though because man did I fill the 512gb so quick.
Can't wait to play Zuma on my 2TB Legion Go!
I am not close to Micro Center in Tustin, so I contacted Micro center through online chat and was informed that they would not build a 2 tb Legion Go and send it to me. I was informed even if I came into the shop in Tustin, they could not guarantee that they would build it.
This dude's voice is amazing.
First of all thank you for the video and the explanation! Instead of selecting "shrink or extend to fill the target disk" option on the cloning proces, is it ok if I use the other option and create a new independent partition with the rest of the new space? I would like to have a partition independent from the OS to store data.
Came for the tutorial stayed for the ASMR
Really handy guide - thanks for this. Can't you have 4tb in total if you use a 2tb microsd?
huge respect
Appreciate it 🙏🏻
I wish I had a micro center near me :(
Do I need to clone anything if I'm opening the unit for the first time?
I ordered the 512GB variant but have a 2TB 2242 on standby.
Thank you for this informative video and I would do anything to get a micro center anywhere near me😢
Orlando needs a microcenter ❤❤❤❤
Surely much easier to install macrium on the Legion Go and then clone the disk with it still in situ. Only need one adaptor and less hassle
Utah needs a Micro Center!
Wow, y'all have a shop in Westbury? I'ma have to grab the 2tb joint asap
Is there a way to get the ssd screw out if the screw won't move? don't have a Micro Center anywhere near.
If I buy the upgrade 2TB from Microcenter, do they also give me the sdd that they took out when they upgraded, or does microcenter keep it?
Hi
Just wanna know ,please
The sd card/micro sd card you show at the begining of the vidéo, is it good for the legion go ?
Micro Center in London, England please. We don't even have a physical Maplin store anymore.
Thank You for sharing, this will be my upgrade from my Steam Deck.
If I have the unit can I bring it to microcenter for the upgrade and what would it vosy me to go from 1tb to 2tb
Cam the Sabrent Steam Deck SSD be used? Thanks for the video.
Is there a micro center in Newport New VA or VA Beach because I rather bring my Handheld in for them to handle this upgrade for me…
Is that VisionTek 2TB M.2 2242 NVME DLX4 PCIe Gen4 x4-901563 the same drive put into the ones you are selling? (up to 5200 MB/s reads and up to 4775 MB/s writes).
is it possible to do the cloning process directly to the legion go?
Can wait for the Charlotte store to open.
I should’ve just bought from you guys lol
Thanks You bro,terbaik😊😊
Would I still need to clone the drive if it im upgrading right out of the box?
Is there a limit to how much memory this system can handle internal? I've tried a 5tb portable HD via USB C and it works fine.
Probably the same games I already play on my 3T Steam Deck right now, except much easier setup for emulation with EmuDeck.
I have a question about the micro SD cards. I did not experience this issue on my Steam Deck, but for some reason when installing games from Steam it takes a really long time to allocate space on the drive. I am using a fast 190mb micro sd card. I don't get it. Any thoughts?
Will / Do you ship to Australia?
Or installed the cloning software directly on the Legion Go, it only took me 30 mins cloning the drive to a new 2TB M.2 in the USB C M.2 enclosure .
Can you make video how to clean fan properly?
Is there any companys in the UK that will upgrade the ssd in My lenovo legion GO?
Dude I bought one 😂 it's awesome 👌
The fan was running while disconnecting the battery. Seems the system wasn’t fully off.
500Go MicroSD + 500Go MicroSD on hub usb + 2To SSD on USB-C port 👍 and I change external SDD with two 1To SSD plug 'n play ^^
Wish you guys were in the UK
Hello, do you ship upgraded Legion Go to Europe ? (France) with extra cost.
Thx
When is the Micro Center in Miami going to open?
What's the maximum capacity MicroSD stick that can be used in the Go?
is 2T is the best capacity one?
I installed a 2TB drive, using a blank USB-key to image it(after grabbing drivers from the original windows folder)
I cant wait for 4TB drives. I find that even the low powered and limited driver support Steamdeck runs out of space for me at 2.5TB, i feel like 3.5TB on the Legion GO will be even more limiting because even more games run well on it, and being windows(for now) its no hassle to install non steam games.
Sonic Frontiers isn’t working on my Legion Go Any advice?
Im probably being stupid but why was the fan still going when he opened up the legion go? Shouldnt it have been off since he shut off the device?
Where do i get one of those microcenter buttons......on your shirt......
Upgrade the ssd result in lost the warranty?
Can I transfer games that I have on steam deck sd card to the legion go?
Do you need to format the micro SD card?
Man its awesome the nvme is upgradeable, didnt know that about this. Is this the norm?
Wich 2TB ssd woud you recomend?
Is it necessary to clone the ssd to the new one ?
just got my 512gb version tried to install games free from xbox pass. my sd card wont show as an option on installation path why is that? i thought i could use sd card on games
I know it won't happen as it's hard for US based businesses to make it here, but hopefully Microcenter can come to Canada one day!
Barrie ontario
Why is fan still goin when you disconnect the battery? :)
How about shipping for people who do not have a Microcenter?
Shame you guys don't have a store in Brandon Florida.
I'm surprised those 22x42 drives don't have a higher capacity since you can get 22x30s with 2TB also.
I might get the Go over a SteamDeck ever tho I can mod the Deck with 32GB of RAM.
I would like to come and see you to help me to upgrade mine. When I went to micro center with my 1TB legion I wanted to upgrade to 2 TB but the cost was 300 dollars which I found too much…
Amazing voice!
wtf this dude has the best voice i've ever heard
I have the same sd card but its making the legion have issues?🤨
Hello, anybody else getting error 9 using Macrium? It doesn't let me complete the cloning process just before ending
Do you need a pc to do this? I only have a Mac
Why is it not recomened to do a clean install?
What about temperature in 512 Vs 2Tb?
Does anyone have the same problem? Mine suddenly turn off when playing game about 10 or 15 minutes but if I am using turbo fan speed. it's not suddenly turn off again
the interior of the Rog ally esr is more beautiful
Hmmmmm I want it!! But darn Family vacations
Closest Micro center is 2 hours away😭 will be coming back to thus when im ready
Got it done after trying to a USB-C to USB adapter, was a bih and a half to find but I finally did it, first expensive piece of tech I did myself, proud
