LOL, the first 5 min really cracked me up! The 'visa process' for Turkmenistan you described in the beginning? - US Visa is pretty much the same thing for most of the non- Western countries!

I just got to the part of the video where they said transportation is heavily car-dependent. That's not that different from America's transportation either, though some places are changing that slowly, you'll find that everywhere in the country was basically built with cars in mind. I live in a semi-rural area, and I have to either get someone I know to drive me or hire an Uber to get around as my street doesn't even have sidewalk and I don't drive. I actually am not a fan of this myself as it's somewhat inconvenient, but I'm an outlier as I know I just can't drive. I guess the equivalent in Turkmenistan would be to hire a taxi since, you know, no social media. But I'd imagine it's similar to our old fashioned taxis that some areas still have.

LONG time watcher, FIRST time commenter. You are and have always been an educated and enthusiastic polyglot dude who is JUST brown-skinned enough to kinda blend in almost ANYWHERE. I have been enjoying your content for years and THIS VIDEO was singular, as you are singular. Thank you for making some of the best content available (at least in U.S.) to us curious and hungry culture-sponge-donkeys (there are better words in like 15 languages for "culture-sponge-donkey" but I know none myself). You are an awesome guy (no offense if you otherwise identify, but...)

Barbs is the absolute CLASS of the CZcams international tourist community. Seriously, this is future historical documentary footage. When so much of social media is so completely disposable, Paul makes footage that's built to last. Another masterpiece. :)

There are a few things I want to say about this video. First of all, well done. I hope that if the Turkmen government does come across this, they will be happy that you put it out there. Also, how cool would it be if the Turkmen government actually takes the name you gave to that ridge? Also, the landscape vaguely reminds me of Mongolia. Of the countries that I visited, it is the one I would most like to visit again, and for longer. While there, I also had the chance to spend the night in a yurt. Finally, you ended the video perfectly. I understand how it feels to be unable to put into words how awesome it is to go to far off places and come back with awesome memories and stories. You are one of the few people who actually found a way to live your dream. And I love your ending quote: "Take your riches. I'll take the world."
