      @@micheldoct7105 well that is just about everything Led Zep does. On the Beatles" The song is just OK - somewhat jarring, not original, OK they can jam, oh boy. Not that far from the horrible Helter Skelter kind of song that sounds like a garage band that is overproduced, noisy and messing. The guitar playing is no Hendrix.

    "Watching Rainbows" is an unreleased song by The Beatles recorded on 14 January 1969 during the massive Get Back sessions at Twickenham Studios. It features John Lennon on lead vocal and electric piano, Paul McCartney on lead guitar, and Ringo Starr on drums; bass guitar is absent from the song because Paul McCartney is playing the absent George Harrison's usual role as lead electric guitar. George Harrison had temporarily left the group at this stage of the sessions.

    I love the Beatles and hail them as the all time favorite of pop music, but even some things are better left on the cutting room floor. One of main reasons it appeared as if everything that they released turned to gold was that they could junk the ones that didn't cut the mustard. Unlike the Stones. I dig the Stones too, but they released a lot of fodder in my opinion.

ALMOST...can almost pick out a riff/rhythm section of the Stones' "CAN YOU HEAR ME KNOCKIN'?" feat. the great Mick Taylor. Actually, after Lennon finishes singing, sit back and imagine Keith, Taylor, Wyman, Watts...even Jagger, sitting in the studio working this tune out. Be sure to listen to their "KNOCKIN'" song first.

John didn't want George, he was just a kid, but Paul got his way because John knew Paul was good and he didn't want him to quit and start his own band.
    According to several Beatle bios Paul also used to sneak George extra food when he worked on the lunch line at the Liverpool Institute, but not because of his mad skills.

Then, there was this song, "Watching Rainbows" which evolved into the main guitar riff. Lastly, there was Lennon's "Everyone Had a Hard Year", which evolved into Lennon's verse in the final song.

    @albuorkka It really is. This was a jam that the Beatles came up with at Twickingham Film Studios on January 14 1969. By this point George had left the band to return a few days later. The chord sequence was Paul trying to begin I've got a Feeling, but John cut him off and started going into a song of his own. And thus, Watching Rainbows was born. John sounds weird because most of the audio comes from bootlegs that were taken from the old film that was taken of the Beatles during the sessions.

    Not only is this awesome and I've never heard of it before...but it also sounds a little bit like Sublime would sound 20ish years later, which is fun on its own.

    This sounds like a jam from "Let it be" riffing off the chords of "I've got a Feeling"

    Cant hear it myself, but for the record, Hey Bulldog is '68, Cant you Hear Me Knocking is '71.
    Stones were always on their coattails...
    Watching Rainbows is '69, as was part of the LetIt Be sessions. Ended up as the backing track for Yoko's Don't Worry Kyoko (1971)

    Why is everyone saying that this is "I've got a feeling"? Go listen to the very last notes in the song "The Walk" by The Beatles. That sounds like the very beginning of "I've got a feeling".

    I wouldn't call this a song, more like a cool, inspired jam - rubbishy lyrics, no chorus or hook.

  • @reepacheirpfirewalker8629

    By the way just to explain a little bit in the book The Complete Beatles Recordings by Mark Lewisohn and based on Paul's own admissions there were VERY few times they did a recording where they were blazing wired and drugged out of their gourds Paul said the recordings done that way were nothing but rubbish and could never have been anything that could have competed in the marketplace for the value of it being played on the top 40. Which was/is a very important thing. I remember a interview with Paul saying that the greatest Beatle recordings all the fans have the best and should be content with what was released and not be looking for something that just isn't there. That if something wasn't released it wasn't worthy of their names being associated with it. I get what he's saying and understand compared to the albums of the hits and whatnot the unreleased things must seem to the band mates as better left on the cutting room floor. I found it funny people thinking that the band Pink Floyd was all drugged out the same thing if they were they didn't get the work done that needed perfection and skill which isn't a particular importance when your baked. Those of us who've been there knows what I am talking about. In fact Richard Wright was kicked out of the band during the The Wall recordings because he was always getting wasted and wasn't really producing the line in it prop up the mortal remains was what Roger Waters was saying about the keyboardist whose drug addiction made him a liability to the band just as Syd Barrett had done ages before that. And he wasn't ten foot tall and bullet proof either.

    • @dralfredcarroll9567
      @dralfredcarroll9567 Před 4 lety +6

      I think that at the time Anthology 3 was released many of the Let It Be session tapes were in the hands of bootleggers. The tapes have since recovered by the authorities. I was hoping a Let It Be sessions box would be released this year as any unreleased 1969 material is about to fall into the public domain.
