- Batman is easily DC’s most successful character in live action with multiple different film franchises and tv show appearances and seeing as you can’t have Batman without a Batsuit and with Micheal Keaton’s Batman returning in The Flash and there seemingly not being another live action Batman appearance for over two years, now would be a good time to look at every live action Batsuit and rank them from worst to best.

Pattinson’s cowl is based off Gotham by gaslight & 66 Batman not daredevil. The caller and ears are Gotham by gaslight & the stitch in sections of the cowl are based on Adam West cowl. Matt Reeves is a HUGE 66 Batman fan. Also in the 66 movie the team of villains was riddler, Penguin, catwoman, & joker. With barry keoghan’s cameo, the Batman has the same lineup of villains.

My favorite batsuit is the 1989 one. A comic booky suit that may be dated, but its timelessness is so iconic. All-black with the yellow oval.
I think that the Returns and Flash Batsuits correct a lot of the problems with the 1989 Batsuit (namely the Batsymbol, the quality of the material used for the Batsuit, and the texture/detail of the armor itself)

Batman's ears being changed from what it was in BvS ultimately makes the other suits a failure. They had the perfect BvS suit but I guess they were trying to sell merchandise? But still. Those ears made such a huge difference. After BvS he just looked like a darker Owl Man.

Totally agree on what the top 3 should be. I would just switch #1 and #2. Both absolutely nail what they’re going for, I just love how they were able to adapt the earth 1 style suit with the uniquely shaped cowl. Can’t fault you for putting the bvs suit above it though. I love it as well.

The 1940 serial Batman was truly unique. I mean, this version of the character keeps the batsuit in a filing cabinet and hates the Japaneses to death. How the hell he hasn't been honored/parodied in modetn products like TBATB?!

Battinson's chest symbol is not made from Joe Chill's gun. That's bullshit. Its been debunked. Also, TDK suit is a big downgrade from the more imposing and theatrical suit from Begins.

The Ben Affleck suit from the flash is really hard to talk about cause in the movie it serves the purpose it was made for given how Batman was taking heavy collisions it makes sense. Obviously it's not a good suit beside that but it also shows the fact about Batman suits ever changing to fit the situation he is in and that's something I love about the Ben Affleck's Batman. So ya I do think it's perfect without it actually being perfect

BVS batfleck looks like he could eat Nolan's Bane alive. I didn't think of it much until I saw the preview images at the end of the video and realized he was so terrifying. Especially over here at 18:06 .
My favourite one is the suit from the dark Knight Rises, I actually prefer a singular/only slightly diverse color scheme and a more armor-like suit.

I don't know if this is applicable, but the symbol should be more visible, because the greatest concentration of armour is there, and if the criminals should aim for something, it should be that.

Sorry to disagree, but Michael Keaton's costumes are my favorite in terms of color scheme. In terms of functionality though, I guess I'd go with the Dark Knight costume. I know the gray bodysuit is popular with most comic book fans, but the only one of those that I like is the Batsuit from Batman the Animated Series. If that's wrong, I don't want to be right.
I gotta say that I find your ranking pretty fair when it comes to the burton/shumacher suits cause something that I find hypocritical with people is when they put the 89 suit in a top spot while one of Shumachers suits (ex.Batman forever) will get a bottom spot for really no major reason other than “nipples” and I feel that’s unfair since Burton and Schumacher suits really aren’t that dissimilar when you look at them.
All black muscle suit, limited movement, with cowl, gauntlets, and boots looking standard. The only other big differences between the suits are something like the yellow belt and logo on Keaton. I know it’s all personal opinion when it comes to rankings but it’s the hypocrisy that gets me
why does he have a issue with the Color Black Batman is supposed to be Dark and Mysterious and in the shadows and Black helps with that. That is why The 1989 costume and Batman Begins 2005 suit are my top 2 favorite's cause they look the Most like Batman to me cause hes Intimidating and strikes Fear into Pepole and make him look scary like a creature more then any of the others and The 89 suit has the Classic Yellow Logo so thats a plus to

My favorite batsuit of all time is the Batman Returns suit. It's just something about the way that suit was designed that just does it for me. They nailed that s***!

Ima have to disagree on the Batfleck suit, I honestly prefer Robert Patterson suit over his Batman Vs Superman suit. It just doesn’t make sense for Batman to go into a gun fight with cloth like material as opposed to some kind of armor. The rest of the list I agree with tho 🔥
I think they should have used the same grey suit from BVS in The Flash but the colors should have been same as the flash.

My perfect batsuit is the BVS suit with the yellow oval Batman Returns emblem, less muscle padding, a more yellow belt, and slightly longer ears.

The “honeycomb” suit is literally a grounded design that makes sense. It’s to protect him from any accidents on the bike. It looks fine and makes sense.

Even though ''Bob Kan'' came up with the idea for the character. Kane's early vision of Batman included {red tights with no emblem, a domino mask and black Bat Wings}. Kane also originally wanted to depict ''Bruce Wayne'' as a blond and not a brunette. But it was in Batman's co- creator artist (Bill Finger)...Who we have to thank for visual aesthetic that defined the character for all time. That being [The cowl, the cape, and the darker color scheme for the costume]. All of which came from ''Bill Finger''.
I have to disagree that the skin tight spandex can't work for Batman. The actor from the fan film Batman: Dead End absolutely nails it because he has the physique to look large and intimidating despite the suit not having the look of thick armor plating. It also has the best cinematic shot of stylizing the cape when he jumps from a roof into an alley, the cape sprawled out around him so when he stands up, it looks like he's "melting up" from the ground like a living shadow.
My favorite suit is the Adam west suit cause like the series they were going for a more comic accurate design with some liberties taken like the eyebrows and the nose being outlined in white but back then the suit colors was a lighter grey and lighter blue the tone of the series was emulating the tone of the comics with the show actually reading a tone of comics to get the the accuracy right
My favorite live action Batsuit is one from The Batman, although my favorite in general outside of the comics is the one you get after unlocking fear takedowns in Batman Arkham Knight.

Honestly, I think I would have put the Adam West costume ahead of the Birds of Prey abomination, and the Clooney/Kilmer Batsuits. I didn't like ANY of those. My favourite has been Affleck's Batsuit from Batman vs Superman (the regular one, not the armour). The only thing I might have liked is for its ears to be a little taller... not MUCH, just a little.

My personal favorite Arkham suit is the one from Arkham Knight you get after unlocking fear takedowns, I love how armored it is while still looking like he has a full range of movement.

I don’t know why everyone loves the Batman versus superman outfit… He looks so big and clunky and chunky there… It’s terrible they definitely made it better in justice league at least I thought so… The only thing I probably would’ve kept over from Batman versus superman would have been his Cowell… That being said I prefer the black look of Batman begins for the Keaton movies… It just looks better on screen than black and gray or blue and gray… Actually blue and gray looks terrible… It might work for the comics but it does not work for movies

16:46 I have to point out at no time did the 2022 bat logo function as a batarang. Nor is there any hint it was made from a gun. It was however a pretty nifty cutting blade. He threw other things a lot, though. I personally loved how his suit made him seem like a constantly morphing shadow when in combat. IMHO.

The "Caped Crusader" (have no idea why you called it that way) is based on his Year 1 Suit, and is actually extremly accurate.
Dude, the goggles makes perfect sense in the Desert and on the tactical suit. The coat as well. There was an old TV series where they wore the coat in the desert as well. Let me guess, you never seen that series before. It was called Rat Patrol, starred ChristopherGeorge. As for the tactical suit, he wore the goggles because it gave him reading on what he was looking at. I guess you missed that part too. That tactical suit was one of the best Batman live action suits to date. As for the Flash suit, it's Barry Allen's firt suit, it's suppose to look bad.
Batfleck's suit in JL looked worse because it wasnt made by the same company that made the one in BvS.

What's the difference between Batfleck's BvS suit & Justice League suit? Don't get me wrong, I 1000% agree that it's the number 1 live-action suit, but what's so different between the two?
The JL suit is more armored in appearance (check the abs) and has an uglier cowl. It’s more cat like or panther like. If you look at the BvS suit, it’s more human in appearance and has a more accurate looking cowl to the TDKR artwork.

Affleck's BvS suit is indeed great. I have only a few problems with it. I would replace the cowl with Keaton's second cowl (Batman Returns) for the ears and the shape of the eyebrows. I would also replace the belt with the Keaton belt (which was perfect, like in the comics but a little more detailed). But on top of all, I would get rid of the huge bat on Affleck's chest. I love the yellow oval. I think the logo was best on Kilmer's regular Batman suit.
My second favorite Batman suit would be Kilmer's regular Batman suit, but with Keaton's belt and Keaton's second cowl.

I agree with your top 5 choices, but prefer Bale's first (Batman Begins) suit to his second one. They're both good, but the first one was truly menacing, while the second sacrifices presence for utility, which does make sense for the sequels, as criminals are already afraid of him.
FYI - Batlfeck's cowl (and sometimes also his cape) in BvS was CGI. If you watch the making of the warehouse fight scene you'll see that his stunt double wasn't wearing a cowl or even a cape.
Also, while the yellow utility belt looks nice and is somewhat iconic, it would ruin his stealthy profile. Batman Begins solved this by making it a bronze color (12:47) so something similar might work.

Battinson's cowl is inspired from the design of Adam west's cowl and human skull.
Nolan should have used a new suit for the third movie.
BvS suit is great.. but a bit over-padded and neck area needed to be improved (which they did in the JL suit). Affleck's costume test suit was perfect.
Black and Grey. Black and Blue is not practical or would look good in a movie. All black batsuit makes perfect sense for live action.

I hope the Dcu Batman has an Updated Adam West Suit with the Material of the Brandon Routh kingdom come suit to make it look different.
I love the BvS suit and agree it's the best look, my issue was it was never really explained properly. It has functional aspects like armour- able to take bullets and knife attacks- but it's meant to look like a cloth suit. Additionally when Bruce is looking at it, it "holds" the form despite it seeming to be a cloth suit over Affleck's body. While Affleck was jacked, he was not as huge as the suit which had different muscle shapes and insertions than him. So aesthetically it looks great, it made no sense logically.
It makes perfect sense, the "muscle" is armor (likely some kind of soft impact hardening armor and probably some plates on the chest itself where the symbol is), with a kevlar fabric shirt going over it. We see this concept in JL, where he takes his outer shirt off to reveal an armor shirt underneath.
@@Phantom8941 but that's completely unnecessary extra detailing to make a muscle suit that is anatomically that of a bodybuilder that should function as armour....how would it function in real life? It's not even Affleck's physique. If you look at it, it has all the striations etc like a competition classic bodybuilder. How would it even move? I know it was mainly just meant to look like the comic batman.
Also the undersuit shown in JL is not the same shape etc as the exterior suit. It just makes no sense (if one actually cares for such details)- I just enjoy the movie but I do wonder how it functions. When I first saw it, I thought it wasn't meant as armour but a true cloth suit.
@@livingweaponnightmare New suit, new undersuit; why make it look like muscles - so he looks like a creature and not like guy wearing armor; I said how it could theoretically function soft when moving hard when sharp impacted, ala non-newtonian fluids, its not even that advanced we have compression foam that mimics it already, throw in some kevlar fabric, maybe some ceramic or metal plating and you've got a nice protective suit

I can see the heat you are taking for this and will respectfully disagree with you on the Pattinson suit. In my opinion, it is one of the worst modern day suits. The cowl makes his head look bulbous, the ears look too small, and it doesn't cover his neck area well. The metal bracers attached to his gauntlets look like something a child would add. They might add weight to his blows and help protect against a blunt instrument, but they would be provide minimal protection against bladed and projectile weapons. Not to mention, their metallic finish would glare in even minimal lighting and not be god tactically. The pouch he has just dangling from his leg is also a pet peve of mine. The last thing you want when trying to be stealthy, or in a fight is a bulky pouch flapping around on your leg. It would interfere with precise movement, and be a potential snagging hazard or something for your opponent to grab. Overall, I just don't like the whole look. Honestly, I like the Michael Keaton suits better, and the Christian Bale suits (especially the 'Dark Knight' version) the best. I think that even though the yellow on Keaton's suits is a tactical no no, they provide that iconic look and feel of the comics come to life, and the Bale suits looked more menacing and cool like one would want with the idea of striking fear in criminals.
