  • Hey Everyone,
    This week I decided to film my reality in hospital. It's not a sad vlog or one that should make you feel sorry for me. It is just the reality I am going through at the moment. As I mentioned in my vlog, I am remaining positive and trying to stay as upbeat as possible about this situation. I know my health will come back, I have no doubt in my mind, I just don't know how long it will take!

    My heart was breaking for you when you said you were sad nobody was there to hold your hand and when you were placed in the dark little room area without sunlight.
    You're so strong♥ Sending my love
    And just wanna say you really inspired me to try and stay more positive

    Here I am sweety, staying positive but glad to know you are home, things always seem brighter when you have your loved ones around. Just hugging the dogs help I know it helps me. That room must have been difficult as I could hear them and not being able to look out the window, horrible. I know you will do all the things you need to do to get stronger and will be back to yourself soon. Love you masses, you are always in my heart. Xxxx

    I think staying positive is like lifting a weight. At first, you're weak, and it's hard to maintain the emotion. But with practice, it becomes easier and easier. If it helps, great. It's also okay, I've found, to have moments or longer, when you just admit that this sucks. Then, you get back on the horse, so to speak, and feel positive again. I just happened on your channel, and I think you are a lovely person. Get well soon!

      Thank you so much that means a lot to me to hear! I will definitely take your advice on board but also agree with you that it's good to have your moment of feeling the natural human feelings we have about something but then to get back to that positive energy. Thank you for watching my video and then leaving this nice comment :) I appreciate you!

    Thanks for making this video. I am from New Zealand as well and currently being investigated for intermittent stomach paralysis. I wonder if it will turn out to be gastroparesis!

    I really enjoyed watching your video, you did an amazing job of staying positive. I too suffer from gastroparesis. Actually, I suffer from total digestive tract failure at this point and am fed exclusively by TPN, IV hydration, and mostly IV medication at this point, but I remember when I was where you were, just starting out in my gastroparesis journey, and it definitely was not easy. Starting when I was ten, I had NJ tubes on and off for my entire older childhood and adolescence until I got my GJ tube at age 16 and then my central line at age 22. Sometimes staying positive is so difficult, and all you want to do is throw a pity party, but from watching your video I can tell you are not that kind of person. You are too strong for that (although everyone has to throw a few pity parties at some point in their lives, especially when they are going through some of the stuff that we go through). I make videos too. I 'm a freelance writer and I read chapters of books I've read on CZcams. One of the books I wrote is called "Saving Destiny" and through alternating viewpoints of Destiny and her mother Bonnie it tells the story of a family battling the monsters that are childhood-onset schizoaffective disorder and gastroparesis so severe that it requires a feeding tube. You can find the first chapter of the novel right here, czcams.com/video/F5mS-DM4Vho/video.html

    What is the difference between the NJ/NG tubes? One into stomach and the other goes where?

    • @ShontelleScott
      @ShontelleScott  Před rokem

      NG goes into the stomach and an NJ goes into the duodenum
