I think that is typically because men are afraid of getting shamed by other men for expressing any type of emotion. I've seen this happen a lot, and my boyfriend deals with the same thing. When he's feeling upset or depressed about something and he goes to his brothers about it they shame him and tell him to suck it up, so his only option is to come to me. I'm not saying he shouldn't come to me, I'm happy he does because I honestly like listening to him talking about how he feels so I can at least try to find a solution for his problems. The issue in general is that it's hard to find anybody that will really and truly support you, emotionally and physically and in the choices you make as an individual. I'm glad mine can lean on me whenever he feels the need to though, I'm not complaining.

Actually, it's a short-term solution to your worries to laugh it out and not long term, as you didn't deal with the source of your worry, just suppressed it, which can later on be built in subconsciously and translate to depression unfortunately.

I think that is typically because men are afraid of getting shamed by other men for expressing any type of emotion. I've seen this happen a lot, and my boyfriend deals with the same thing. When he's feeling upset or depressed about something and he goes to his brothers about it they shame him and tell him to suck it up, so his only option is to come to me. I'm not saying he shouldn't come to me, I'm happy he does because I honestly like listening to him talking about how he feels so I can at least try to find a solution for his problems.
The issue in general is that it's hard to find anybody that will really and truly support you, emotionally and physically and in the choices you make as an individual. I'm glad mine can lean on me whenever he feels the need to though, I'm not complaining.
