Even as kids, we all knew Edge was winning that match, just because we all thought he would've looked too funny bald, whereas we could tell Kurt would look ok.

You could take someone who doesn't watch wrestling, show them the title card, tell them "hey one of these dudes has to shave his head if he loses" and they immediately recognize who is the face/ heel just by the lopsided stakes. Such a good premise for a side fight that got so much out of the storyline with minimal investment in the setup.

The main issue that always arises is the sweat. Cause the hair sticks to you and the clippers and is just an awful situation.

And if you look at how he was booked after they made him a lil less of a goofy character. I think if he had grown his beard out in WWE and just went with a cesar haircut it would have made him look really intimidating.
Tbh he was already balding and imo it made him look better...and by the time he grew it back out in TNA he was lean and off the percs so it added to his character frfr lol

Raven had the same thing happen to him (in regards to the clippers being backwards) but they were using sheep shears to counteract all the sweat and therefore cut his hair. So with clippers that powerful and facing the wrong direction, Sinister Minister James Mitchell just cleaved, scalped and eviscerated Raven's scalp in the middle of the TNA ring and it was absolutely horrifying. I met Raven last year, at the time of writing this, and asked him about it. He told me it was excruciating and that when he got backstage James Mitchell was in tears and couldn't stop begging his forgiveness. But Raven is such a nice guy and he implored James Mitchell that it was okay, and of course that it looked great on TV.
I remember when someone came up to me and said “you’re losing your hair at 23? That sucks!”. I was thinking “who told this guy?” I sincerely thought it wasn’t that noticeable.

I grew up around my families business, which was a distributor to salons/barbershops/etc. I remember watching that when I was like 20 years old and going “Oh no. Angle is gonna be butchered”. Could’ve been the sharpest or dullest blades ever and it wouldn’t matter except for the potential for some color.
Week 1 - Debut of the brand split
Week 2 (PPV) - Kurt gets his head shaved
Week 3 - Cena debuts
