  • I'm building the smallest Voron 3D printer with the goal of tuning it to print with the highest possible precision. I've finished the initial build from the LDO kit and now it's time for some modifications. In an attempt to improve both extrusion consistency and part cooling, I've decided to swap out the default Mini Stealth Burner print head with a Dragon Burner fitted with the Orbiter 2.0 extruder.
Below are links to the resources I mentioned in this episode...

Having also built a Voron 2.4 and 0.2 and having a resin printer, I guess I still don't see why you'd want to use the 0.2 for those type of parts, seems like the resin printer should be able to do those at a better quality. That said, building and upgrading your own printer is super fun and any excuse to build another one is a good excuse. I love that your channel focuses on the intersection of 3D printing and scale modeling. Interested to see what comes next.

I have a resin printer and I do use it for this purpose as well, but I thought it would be a fun exercise to see how close I can get to resin quality with an FDM printer.

For me the Revo has been working great, but I'm not trying to print very fast. If you're aiming for speed, I'd say the dragon HF is probably the better choice.

@gunplamark Would you be so kind and point me to x carriage you are using?

The Dragon Burner is compatible with the original v0 Mini Stealthburner x carriage, so it's this one from the official v0.2 parts: github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-0/blob/Voron0.2r1/STLs/X_Carriage_x1.stl
