  • The air is crisp, the sun is shining, what better way to enjoy this unusual winter weather than riding the DRZ in the Blackwood/Wombat/Lerderderg area.
‪@SqueakyBoot‬ trying to document some of the tracks, so others can get out and enjoy what this area has to offer.

Tough track, I've only done it in the opposite direction which is probably easier. Haven't tried the northern section yet that goes from Nolan Creek rd to the picnic ground.

It was a bit rocky, the bottom part between Nolan Creek Road and the picnic ground was closed due to the seasonal closures.

I’ve watched a lot of off road videos recently cos I’m going to buy a husky 701. For the life of me, I cannot understand why all these riders constantly stall and drop the bikes. I had a 92 XR630 that was almost the same weight and I hardly dropped it or stalled it. If you’ve ever ridden a big bore thumper with no electric start….. you quickly learn how to ride. Trying to kick over a stalled hot motor with huge compression was a nightmare. So I learned how to ride properly.

The XR's were good bikes back in the day, the 701 is a very nice piece of kit from all reviews almost a Unicorn.

If you give that bike a big wrist full of power, you’ll skim those bumps mate. Your breathing indicates nervousness. You need to build some confidence and the way to do it is to just go for it.
