The car build looks great! I'm a man of little means but the good lord has always blessed me and gave me the mind set on achieving things that most people think are impossible. I tend to think alot like you as well, I will figure out a way to do a task the easiest safest way possible. Even if I have to try several different ways to do so. Wood working is so versatile and with the right tools and safety in mind, a person could achieve their goals if they think about it long enough! Nice job sir! Sure wished I'd had you as my shop teacher when I was in school! P.S. hope the thumbnail healed up and hope you didn't lose it!

Just a suggestion on the spare tire fender cut out, maybe use a dremel tool to take away the area instead of cutting it completely out and adding another piece of black walnut. Bcs that area will be really thin and weak for black walnut.

I could see using a forstner bit the correct diameter and a drill press to take out the wood the correct size of the wheel cutout. The work would have to be very securely clamped thought

Glue sandpaper on the wheel and use the wheel as a sander with a drill and it will be quick and perfect.

I don't keep track, but building them like this, with power tools one can complete it in 2 days max. The wheels would take longer of course, It was the first time I tried making them with spokes, the method I used was a fun time spent in the shop figuring it out. I like challenges to make things easy.
