Warner, do you live on the Big Island? If so, you can watch us Channel 130 (via Spectrum). In a week we're going to start a new feature called BLAST FROM THE PAST. Each week we will be airing a different local story produced from the 80's and 90's. If you see yourself, you could win a $100 gift card to Huggo's. I'll be posting more details on our FaceBook page facebook.com/BigIslandTVHawaii/?ref=bookmarks

Awww Grandma Poy, such an amazing lady. It's so emotional hearing her tell her story, especially when you actually know the person. She's not my tutu, shes my moms cousins tutu, but we just call her grandma regardless. But nonethless, shes such an amazing lady and we make sure to stop by to tell her hi when we go Laupahoehoe, which is somewhat rare though.

Sad story and heart felt feelings for those lost and their families. On a positive note, Tsunami bouys are now located several hundred miles out at sea from the northeast coast of Big Island. Residents will forever have plenty of advanced warning. We love Laupahoehoe....its people and scenery are beautiful.

Videos of the Indonesian tsunami shows the water recedes so far out...
lots of people tourist just kept walking further and further out...
There were Indonesian folks way up about 10 stories up in a big hotel. They were yelling to the people to run run...
The wave coming in is terrifying
