Awsome video, very informative. I definitely learned a few things. I'm trying to get a curbing business going in Florida and I'm still trying to get the feel for it. I need all the help I can get. Much appreciated.

Very cool videos. I watched the training video on the website. Did I understand correctly that you simply blow off the powder and cover with a sealer? Are you not using acid or other liquid to rinse the powder off your curb?
if you rinse the powder off then there will be no secondary color. in the vid you will see that we liquify the release with mineral spirits or paint thinner, not wash off. this will allow the sealer to penetrate into the concrete. some dont even do this and never have an issue
Do you liquefy the powder and sealer the same day you set the curb? do i have to wait for the curb to dry 1-3 before the day sealer? Thank you!

@@borders06 Thanks for your videos. I watched them many times. My English is not perfect.) I'm afraid to misunderstand the nuances.
Hey mate, so that’s just a fury paint roller for the colour? Roll it on, then pattern over top, blow it off?
Go to curbuniversity.com
Sorry for his lack of help and info... the color gets put in during the mixing of the cement. You mix the sand cement color and fiber. The hopper spits out the curb. You go back and trowel the curb to get it packed and formed correctly, the roller gets rolled along to border per choice of stamp design and is dipped in a powder for your choice of finish. And then you you finish it off with a sprayer and sealant
@@itsalwayssmokeyinphiladelphia that’s awesome, thanks for taking the time to explain it, I’ll try a couple of them kerbs at home and see how it goes, looks great, thanks again 👌🏻
Are the joints cut completely through the concrete?
Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you Jerome. You don't want to cut them all the way through, you will loose the integrity of the curb. you want it to be one continuous curb, we go about halfway so it has room to flex. You don't really want to go more than a couple feet between each joint, safer that way.
@@borders06 Thanks. Your curbs looks awesome. I am going to give curbing a go. No one is doing it in my area
@@Mr.BodyByFisher thanks jerome, i hope the videos help, thats why we do em. where are you located?
Have you been to our website? borderlineusa.com. tons of stuff there for you
@@borders06 I will go to it. I am trying to learn as much as possible
Is there any way I can contact you by phone? I wanted to ask a couple questions on the release and burning with mineral spirits? Thanks Joe Pirro
Hi joe, this is Lonnie with borderline, u can call me at 701 751 2705 in office
Why don't you install the drains that cross the curbing beforehand?
So dig trenches and haul in the pipe and bury them underground and put curb over the top?
You must bury the drains either way. If you put down the curb first, doesn’t that slow your work to dig all the drains (because you have to work around the curbing) and you risk damaging the concrete curb from setting where you can’t ramp backfill near semi-cured curb.
I dont put in the drains, if they hire a landscaper then they would do it before or after I'm there, I'm not a landscaper, I curb for a living.
That's up to them.
We recommend to extend them over top so water us outside. If they wanna do different that's great.
What is the so called "piss" spray your using.

No drainage holes? You basically installed a swimming pool around there house, thAts why all the curbjng i see is washed out at the bottom, an the fact that you didnt remove the fronts or smooth, its gonna look real good after a few years, an putting expansion joints every foot? This is why my company is constantly 3 months out in work. cuz people put work out like this lol
U obviously didnt watch the video...theres a drain at every curve, and expansion every 2 ft like theres supposed to be so it can flex. The front is cleaned after the job,
Avg house like this has least 10 drains.
For someone who obviously knows everything u dont know much.
I wish can someone can do this in my ty own, Iowacity. Dose anybody have any idea please .
My neighbors did this years ago. Looked nice in the beginning, but years of weather from the transition of summer to winter has made it heave and break up. Looks really bad now. If you live in a climate where the ground is going to freeze and thaw, I would advise against doing this method.
So if a concrete company did ur sidewalk and it heaved and cracked up would you say that you shouldn't do any flatwork concrete of any kind in the north? Or maybe its the installer....
If a company is trained and used the correct materials and machines u will not have problems, this goes in any industry.
@@borders06 A company did do the work. They had a fancy machine that formed the curb, they struck it so it would crack where they wanted it too and stamped a design into it. It looked quite nice for a couple of years, but then the seasons took its toll. As for drives and sidewalks, Ive seen plenty that didnt weather well over time either. Our soil is terrible which will effect how well this method stands up. Better off doing individual precast faux brick or stone in most areas.
@@michaelfisher7835 I live in one of the harshest climates in the states in Bismarck, nd. We don't have the problems your describing, thats my point, its the installer thats not doing things correctly.
@@borders06 Don't forget to seal as it wears off
All colored or stamped curb gets several coats of seal just like we did in the video
