When installing a ground rod: A electrician trick is to put a flat washer with outside diameter just a little bit bigger than the ground round on the bottom . This will make a hole bigger than the rod & eliminate friction BTW the ground & the rod. Jim

Use your fence post driver to put them electric fence, ground rods in the ground. Not easier on your hands and not likely to miss.
Wonder what you would hear if you could hear the ones that complain when they're talking to their spouse. Good job on the fencing. The animals all came right in the new area. People fly down your road like they do ours. GOD bless y'all.

Brandon, do you know they make metal Tie wraps and a pair of plier-like tool to crimp them together and cut them off at one time. They are awesome to attach the cow and goat panels, or chicken wire or anything metal. We got them off Amazon.
My husband always says I'm just a dumb O girl and he loves me anyway. I've had friends get upset that he says this. Just like you all it's goofing around and banter. We love it and it's fun watching someone else do it. Shows how good of a relationship you two have. Keep up the fun.

We had a neighbour " Grumpy George" he had had a minor altercation with my exhusband,but id never actually met him. Each time we would pass on the single track road, id pull in to let him pass,he would scowl at me and the kids..we would smile and wave..every single time...months later,he accidentally waved back! His face was a picture lol😂 after that time, he always at least raised a hand in acknowledgement...we dont give up easy! He even smiled once in a while!

use hammer drill for grounding rod next time
My husband learned a trick from his father. When installing groundrods. Dig a little hole. Have a hose near by and start pulling the rod up and down while someone is puttin ewayerin thst hole. Thewayer pushes the rocks away. Hydrolic pressure. Your rod slides in pretty fast. It works good. Not for boulders! Lol
Plant tilling turnips to soften your ground, improve the nutrients and livestock will eat the tops... Cog Hill farm planted some because even with a powered auger they could not drill 3 inches in their soil when they moved 2 years ago to the new property... this year have real good soil.. can hand auger and better soil

I had two 8’ copper rods I had to put in the ground for my house. I did it the easy way, used my hammer drill with a socket on the end. Had both rods buried a foot under ground in less then five minutes.
Luckily, we have had a lot of rain. It made it a lot easier.
Just a three or four pound shedge would be so handy around the farm.
Makes me laugh 😃 the way you two cut it up..reminds me of an old tv show called the honey mooners..

For the future it might be worth checking Home Depot for bits that go on a hammer drill for ground rods. I’ve never used one but if you have to drive them in often enough it might be worth getting

I found if I get hedge trimmers they work better and faster along the fence and on it. I used electric one but they might have gas ones. Then tree loopers on those vines with thorns even great on the tree for kids getting higher up branches.

What a nice heard of goats .in the 60s my grandfather had over 100 head of goats in Louisiana. Back then he free range all his life stock.
