- Learn how to crochet a hat this tutorial video. Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. In this video I show how to make an easy mesh hat for everybody. This covers your hair nice as well looks nice with your outfit. This crochet pattern works up quick and easy for and only uses one skein of yarn. Double crochet and single crochet stitches make up this pattern. I'm using a G 4 mm crochet hook and lighter DK weight yarn.

I made a beanie simular to this year's ago.. I was experimenting with a square mesh type. Very easy.. Looks cool Though not as practical as beanies go.. 🤣 I should try this loose style. 🤔😊 Even though I'm just getting to the end of brushing out my Dreads, this will stil look cool x thank you x

Maybe it's just a counting thing, or a gauge issue. Verify the number of stitches near the bottom, then near the top and see if they have increased. If not, then perhaps as you are crocheting you are loosening up a bit, thus making your stitches larger.

Yes, any fiber type with the same weight (thickness of yarn) as the one in the video should work.

DK weight yarn indicates the thickness of the yarn. Yarn comes in several thicknesses, including DK weight. Its weight is usually listed somewhere on the yarn label, or you can Google the name of the yarn and some site will list its weight.
Can thinner yarn be used too ?
Yes, you'll just have to keep the measurements in mind (adding/subtracting stitches if needed).
