- You can learn how to Crochet the Mobius Twist Shawl and Hooded Cowl in this DIY tutorial video. Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. This crochet mobius (moebius) twist shawl wrap and hooded cowl makes for a nice gift for yourself or someone else!
AS A REMINDER - when you get to ROUND 2, be sure you keep crocheting until you reach the CH-3. If the CH-3 is still on the BOTTOM - it means you haven't crocheted enough stitches on that round - just keep going and going!
Although it looks kind of complicated, this is one of the easiest shawls you will ever crochet. Plus you will learn a super easy way of joining a long chain into a ring without it getting twisted. Made with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Tonal bulky weight yarn and a size P (10-12mm) crochet hook, you can crochet this wrap very quickly.

So glad someone asked this as I was having the same problem and was just about to unravel everything and start again! Instead I kept going and it worked :)
I'm finding my slip stitch join looks a bit messy though... a bit loose or something. It doesn't line nice all nice and neat. Any tips?
really nice, thank you
Not sure - I'd probably have to see a photo of what you mean. Feel free to post on my facebook page (link above) o r email me from my website naztazia.com
Thanks for stopping by!
Are you saying that you need to crochet around the bottom and the top to make 124 DC? In the tutorial you didn't mention that so it seems a little confusing.
Just made my first one for my mom, i now have about 10 orders from other family members. Thanks for the great video, you make it very easy to follow, and have some great tips for beginners.
donna, I absolutely love how simple, quick, and easy to understand your tutorials are. Sometimes I really just want to make something and don’t have it in me to sit through a 20 minute video where every second counts… Thank you so much ❤️😇
Great tutorial! Thanks for the anti-twist tip. So simple, yet such a pretty finished product. Thank you.
Thank you - glad the video could help!
Thank you so much for the trick to keep my chain straight!!! You've made my life so easy. Blessings.....
Another great thing to put on my bucket lists of things to crochet! Thank you very much!! 💕💕
This is such an easy and neat pattern! I did have the problem of getting through the round and finding my CH-3 on the bottom, immediately believing that I'd messed up somehow, but your comment reminder made me keep going and I quickly figured out what I was doing. Beware the crisis of confidence--if your CH-3 isn't where you think it should be, keep going with your double crochets. You'll figure it out after that first completed round. Just finished mine today!
Best tutorial on this shawl. Keeping that one stitch on the hook when doing the chain stitch is a game changer. Thanks so much. I am starting my now. Using a smaller yarn. On the third row already. It works up faster than I thought.
The first of your videos for me and I subscribed for your trick on keeping the chain straight alone. Now I get to go through all of your videos. Thanks!
this is so KOOL with a twist I think I can make this in bulky grey for a man's cowl ... thnx Donna for this tutorial
I made this last night in just a few hours and it looks fabulous. Thank you so much for the tutorial!

she is so right i started my project and did the chains just like she said and for the first , i wasnt frustrated over getting my work all twisted . You never to old things.
Thank you for your input that her tip helped you too.
your welcome 😊
Amazing!! thank for you description. beautiful shawl.
This is great, I subscribed after I watched the video, sometimes the videos and instructions are so involved and done so quickly they are hard to understand and it gets frustrating. This is totally amazing, thank you so much!
That chain trick is amazing. Thank you!!
I think it might be worthwhile to mention....when working into the foundation chain, work into one loop, front or back, only. That way, when you get to the part where you don't join/keep going into the underside of the foundation chain, you'll have some nice stitches to work into. :)
I can not wait to make this thank you for a great video (Bev)
Glad the video could help and thanks for stopping by!
Your trick to keeping the chain straight = GENIUS! I'm probably late to the party and everyone else already knew about this - but I just wanted to say thank you.

I love making and wearing shawls. This pattern gives a new 'twist' to shawls. Will make one quickly. I love it!
Happy to help!
I am going to make it, thanks for the very clear instructions.
Brilliant! Never twisting again! 😀
Haha - awesome! How ironic I show how not to twist a chain in a twisted shawl video, right? :)
naztazia yeah that's pretty funny. love the video. I want to make the shaw but with the multiple colors you did one of your scarfs with :-)
naztazia the oh my stars scarf. is there a way to combine that with the multiple colors and the shaw in this video? that would be breathtakingly gorgeous. I'd wear it everywhere!
Hi! I'm sure there is - would have to really think about how to do it though ;)
I'm sure you'll find a way how :-) I hope I gave you a good idea :-)
I adore you for that 5th chain circle trick alone. That's going to save me so much time on future projects. Plus I want to make this project. It's gorgeous!
How simple and how incredible!!! I loved it!!!
Never thought about this little tip. Thank you Naztazia!
must do, thank you
Great! Thanks for stopping by :)
Thank you.😊
Very Nice🐛 and Easy🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🍯🐝🐝🐝
Thank you very much!
thanks
Thank you, Donna . . . I have saved this Mobius tutorial as one of my favorites. My shoulders are 46 inches around, so, since I’m using a lighter weight yarn along with a smaller hook, I simply placed my yardstick in front of me in an upright position and crocheted a string of stitches that equaled the circumference of my shoulders. That came to 140 stitches. Your tip for keeping my line straight worked perfectly . . . Thank you, again, with all my heart! God Bless you, Dear One! 😘❤️🌹🕊🙏🏻
Excellent!
omgsh you are too clever with that chain trick. Its so simple! Why did i never think of it? You have the best videos. They are relaxing to watch.
ok what am i doing wrong im going step by step and some where from pivoting work to next round im ending up on opposite side please help feel kind of stupid lol
That's part of the mobius concept - you will end up working on both the top and bottom parts. Just keep DC'ing until you reach the beginning CH3.
it was trouble for me too at first. try to think of it as a figure 8, and you have to go ALL the way around.
I've tried this all day and had to unravel it numerous times and start over. I twist when you say in the video but every time I get back to the place to slip stitch, my chain 3 is on the bottom of the row. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
You haven't done anything wrong. Just keep crocheting though! If your chain-3 is at the bottom it means you've only crocheted half way around that round. Keep going another 62 DCs or so for a total of 124 DCs on that round.
naztazia ok. I'll keep on going. lol. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thank you 😊
I was about to ask the same since it happens to me as well, i will keep going! Thanks you two
@@jadensjools I wish I saw this earlier! I ripped mine 4 times before I read this comment! Lol
@@kalinalucchese9965 me too😄😄
Thanks for the trick! That makes it so easy. Thanks for the pattern. I love it!!
Such a good teacher love the mobius shawl
Your Awesome
Thank you very much
by the way what size did you make with the 62 chs
This is so beautiful! Working on my second one now, here's a tip for a seamless look:
*Instead of ch 3* at the beginning of a round, *ch 1 and dc into the same working stitch*
When joining the round ignore the ch 1, *slst into the top of the dc, ch 1, dc into same stitch*
Otherwise continue with the pattern as normal! Thanks so much
okay I learned how to knit from you earlier this week and have already began making a scarf, easy! I've been crocheting since I was younger and I'm just now learning to put the hook in first chain and continuing the chain to keep it straight and not twist?? Mind blown, thank you!
Saw this video last night and I just finished my new wrap. Thanks for a great tutorial. I love it!
Wonderful! Feel free to share photos if you want on my Facebook page: facebook.com/naztazia
