i am proud too have muslim frriends. one family i went too college with really got through a rough time in my life ( the father in particular) i was dating a guy i was really serious about but he was pressuring me too have sex ( and i was and still am planning on saving my virginity until marriage) i told my friend about it and he told me too go with my heart and my gut ( that if bradley loved me he would wait and understand) -- i am glad i listened to his advice because i found out bradley was sleeping with several women behind my back. it was so hard for me emotionally. and this family is such a caring family they all was there for me in this tough point in my life. i was ready to end my life and my self esteem was at a low point but the son told me i was a good woman that GOD will find someone special for me one day he told me i was a beautiful woman with a heart of Gold. this meant the world too me. i dont want too say their names or anything because i dont want anyone disrespecting them. they were there for me and one day i had too be there for them too. one day at school i heard these college students ( a man and a women) talking about how my muslim friends were terriost and murders and were going too bomb the school just because they were muslim. i was so angry and upset because these people are good people and wouldnt harm anyone for any reason that i could think of. so i stood up for them and told them what pigs they were for judging someone before knowing them. NO human has a right too judge anyone esle since we are all sinners only GOD can judge us) and even if you arent a believer there is bad and good in alot of people not just on one specific gender/race/religion..

It's honestly really fun to be Agnostic. I like asking people why they believe a certain way and what caused them to believe in that way. Sadly, I get a lot of "because I was raised to believe this way" with no further explanation. Which is more of a fallacy than an actual reason. All and all though, it's enjoyable to hear different opinions to try and form my own.

If you are raised drinking soda, your family is likely to cause you to have a preference of Coke over Pepsi or vice versa. it's not that they would suggest that one is superior to the other it's just that people tend to make a choice and then once that choice is made individuals recommend certain things and we bend to these recommendations. As a small child we have no choices because without experience children have no points of reference, we take the only thing that's offered and we simply request more of it or less of it. from this point we only have a need to make a choice if we have a problem with that first choice we were offered. religion is the same but you also add in usually the teaching that it's a sin to question this religion so unlike the rest of things in life with religion we don't experiment we don't question we don't test our own because if we have any faith in any religion then we're most likely taught that one of the main course of that is not to question it. by the time you get old enough to start questioning if you are filled with years of ignorance and then you get attacked you that ignorant as you start to question this is just the life that we are maturing into at this time. but thanks to you for questioning and thinking

I am not religious, in fact I am an atheist, but that was such a beautiful video it made me tear up. All I want is for people to get along and live together in peace and harmony and love one-another, regardless of religion or lack-thereof. I have read the entire Bible, the Bhagavad-Gita, the Torah, and a great deal of the Qu'ran, and regardless of the fact that most of the belief systems and "laws one must live by" that are included in them (however irrelevant and antiquated by today's standards, and some of the teachings are just horrible and quite insane) I do not believe in... what I love about them is their (for the most part) teachings of loving one-another and doing unto others as you would have done unto yourself (and I must point out that I do not need a book, etc, to give me good morals and basic love and kindness for others). The part that is heartbreaking and terrifying to me is that there are fundamentalists who cherry-pick and twist the scriptures to suit their needs and beliefs and take everything in them literally and often result to such extremes that they kill others in the name of their religion. I am all for religious freedom, it just scares the crap out of me that a lot of these people's beliefs are directly contradicted by solid scientific evidence and that they are trying to get these beliefs taught in school as fact (such as creationism.. uggggh... AWWWFUL) and that is NOT OKAY. I am all for a "religious studies" class that's purpose is to educate kids about other religions so that they may know what's out there and allow them to make their own decision about what or whom they want to believe in when they are mature enough to make this decision for themselves. But anyway, back to the point. Trump is a deplorable human being, but it was so beautiful to see people become more open-minded and kind and accepting of one-another. Love it. Absolutely love it. :o)

I would agree, when you say "Oh we need a better vetting process to make sure that we are taking the precautions to protect the safety of our citizens" People, especially the far left tend to hear "All Muslims are terrorist!" There is even a campaign to stop the term "Islamic terrorism" The probably comes from our generation from the moment we started learning, we were taught tolerance. And there is nothing wrong with that to a certain degree, we should teach tolerance and acceptance. Support gays, support people of different cultures and backgrounds. If you say, you want a better vetting process from Muslim countries with ties to terrorist organizations then more than likely you will be called a xenophobe and a racist. What should happen is a dialogue and an learning that there are different sects, there is also fundamentalism, and extremist within the religion. A discussion on the differences between Wahhabi sect, moderate Islam, Shiite and Sunni should come into play. But it doesn't because racist! and Islamaphobe! are trump cards used to derail constructive conversation The messed up part about it is that the people mean well, believe it or not. But it also comes from a place of self righteousness. In their minds they believe that tolerance is always right, even when that tolerance can lead to dangerous situations. This is fantastic. I'm a 40 something white male. When I went out for freshman football way back in the late 80's, I met this kid who the 14 year old me thought was a funny name, but he was really cool and we became friends. He ended up as my quarterback for four years of high school, and another four years of college as we were lucky enough to be offered by the same school. The "funny name" was arabic, and the cool kid became my best friend. I get emotional when I think about how our meeting changed my life in so many ways. I was a poor kid. I had no mother, and my dad broke his back to make sure my brother and I lived in a good neighbourhood with good schools, but we barely, barely, barely stayed above water. There were more than a few occasions that we came home from school to find the hydro or water had been turned off, which was absolutely unheard of to kids in the school that I went to. There were also more than a few occasions where there just wasn't going to be dinner on the table. Like I said, my dad did all he could, literally all he could, but things weren't easy. As you can imagine, it isn't the easiest thing to talk about for a proud teenager, but my friend with the "funny name" always made sure there was a place at the dinner table for me. He and his family of course. They were like a second family to me, and never made me feel ashamed or that I was taking a hand out. I was lucky to have experienced their culture, their openness, and their love (and Middle Eastern food, which is AB-SO-FRICKING-LUTELY AMAZING!!!!!). I wish these people that Trump has empowered to be racist could have the experience that I had at a young age. It's the fear of the unknown, and it's the mob mentality that has gotten us to where we are in 2016, sadly "where we are" is 30 years in the past. Trump has had such a profoundly negative impact on race relations that it's almost like a satirical Hollywood movie. Unfortunately it's reality.

I just realized that a lot of Trump voters probably never spoke to a Muslim in their life because the American society is segregated to such an extent. Growing up in Germany, I automatically got to know Muslim kids, there's always at least one or two Turkish kids in a classroom. You know when Ramadan is because some of your classmates don't eat anything for a month. Most of our Street food is middle Eastern. Etc. etc. etc. In middle school I had this friend whose parents were very strict about her wearing her headscarf a certain way, so we would always help her fix it in front of the bathroom mirror. You know, just being kids helping each other out in order not to get in trouble with their parents. It's easy to hate on "the others" as long as you can't put a name and face and a story to them.
We don not hate dogs. it is just disliked we bring the dog inside the house except cat and other 'pure' animals for some religious reasons. it is Compulsory on us to treat every creation of the Creator (Allah) with compassion and kindness. i am proud too have muslim frriends. one family i went too college with really got through a rough time in my life ( the father in particular) i was dating a guy i was really serious about but he was pressuring me too have sex ( and i was and still am planning on saving my virginity until marriage) i told my friend about it and he told me too go with my heart and my gut ( that if bradley loved me he would wait and understand) -- i am glad i listened to his advice because i found out bradley was sleeping with several women behind my back. it was so hard for me emotionally. and this family is such a caring family they all was there for me in this tough point in my life. i was ready to end my life and my self esteem was at a low point but the son told me i was a good woman that GOD will find someone special for me one day he told me i was a beautiful woman with a heart of Gold. this meant the world too me. i dont want too say their names or anything because i dont want anyone disrespecting them. they were there for me and one day i had too be there for them too. one day at school i heard these college students ( a man and a women) talking about how my muslim friends were terriost and murders and were going too bomb the school just because they were muslim. i was so angry and upset because these people are good people and wouldnt harm anyone for any reason that i could think of. so i stood up for them and told them what pigs they were for judging someone before knowing them. NO human has a right too judge anyone esle since we are all sinners only GOD can judge us) and even if you arent a believer there is bad and good in alot of people not just on one specific gender/race/religion..

It's honestly really fun to be Agnostic. I like asking people why they believe a certain way and what caused them to believe in that way. Sadly, I get a lot of "because I was raised to believe this way" with no further explanation. Which is more of a fallacy than an actual reason. All and all though, it's enjoyable to hear different opinions to try and form my own.

As a small child we have no choices because without experience children have no points of reference, we take the only thing that's offered and we simply request more of it or less of it. from this point we only have a need to make a choice if we have a problem with that first choice we were offered. religion is the same but you also add in usually the teaching that it's a sin to question this religion so unlike the rest of things in life with religion we don't experiment we don't question we don't test our own because if we have any faith in any religion then we're most likely taught that one of the main course of that is not to question it. by the time you get old enough to start questioning if you are filled with years of ignorance and then you get attacked you that ignorant as you start to question this is just the life that we are maturing into at this time. but thanks to you for questioning and thinking

I am not religious, in fact I am an atheist, but that was such a beautiful video it made me tear up. All I want is for people to get along and live together in peace and harmony and love one-another, regardless of religion or lack-thereof. I have read the entire Bible, the Bhagavad-Gita, the Torah, and a great deal of the Qu'ran, and regardless of the fact that most of the belief systems and "laws one must live by" that are included in them (however irrelevant and antiquated by today's standards, and some of the teachings are just horrible and quite insane) I do not believe in... what I love about them is their (for the most part) teachings of loving one-another and doing unto others as you would have done unto yourself (and I must point out that I do not need a book, etc, to give me good morals and basic love and kindness for others). The part that is heartbreaking and terrifying to me is that there are fundamentalists who cherry-pick and twist the scriptures to suit their needs and beliefs and take everything in them literally and often result to such extremes that they kill others in the name of their religion. I am all for religious freedom, it just scares the crap out of me that a lot of these people's beliefs are directly contradicted by solid scientific evidence and that they are trying to get these beliefs taught in school as fact (such as creationism.. uggggh... AWWWFUL) and that is NOT OKAY. I am all for a "religious studies" class that's purpose is to educate kids about other religions so that they may know what's out there and allow them to make their own decision about what or whom they want to believe in when they are mature enough to make this decision for themselves. When I went out for freshman football way back in the late 80's, I met this kid who the 14 year old me thought was a funny name, but he was really cool and we became friends. He ended up as my quarterback for four years of high school, and another four years of college as we were lucky enough to be offered by the same school. The "funny name" was arabic, and the cool kid became my best friend. I get emotional when I think about how our meeting changed my life in so many ways. I was a poor kid. I had no mother, and my dad broke his back to make sure my brother and I lived in a good neighbourhood with good schools, but we barely, barely, barely stayed above water. There were more than a few occasions that we came home from school to find the hydro or water had been turned off, which was absolutely unheard of to kids in the school that I went to. There were also more than a few occasions where there just wasn't going to be dinner on the table. Like I said, my dad did all he could, literally all he could, but things weren't easy. As you can imagine, it isn't the easiest thing to talk about for a proud teenager, but my friend with the "funny name" always made sure there was a place at the dinner table for me. He and his family of course. They were like a second family to me, and never made me feel ashamed or that I was taking a hand out. I was lucky to have experienced their culture, their openness, and their love (and Middle Eastern food, which is AB-SO-FRICKING-LUTELY AMAZING!!!!!). I wish these people that Trump has empowered to be racist could have the experience that I had at a young age. I just realized that a lot of Trump voters probably never spoke to a Muslim in their life because the American society is segregated to such an extent. Growing up in Germany, I automatically got to know Muslim kids, there's always at least one or two Turkish kids in a classroom. You know when Ramadan is because some of your classmates don't eat anything for a month. Most of our Street food is middle Eastern. Etc. etc. etc. In middle school I had this friend whose parents were very strict about her wearing her headscarf a certain way, so we would always help her fix it in front of the bathroom mirror. You know, just being kids helping each other out in order not to get in trouble with their parents. It's easy to hate on "the others" as long as you can't put a name and face and a story to them.
That was awesome and brought a tear to my eye. Don’t judge until you get to know that person and their struggles.
