I like the movie, the performances and the fact that is showed that catching ghosts by self-invented equipment will always be funny and a dream without limits of latitude
who here admits that people should accept the fact that these ladies are talented actors who deserve more credit. They did this film perfect, these ladies did the best they could and there is absolutely no problem with that.

Think of Ghostbusters (2016) as a movie, not a Ghostbusters movie. When you think Ghostbusters, you think excessively (and unnecessarily) cheesy, poor by today's standards (but still great), instant blockbusters. When you think movie, you think movie. That's it. The movie was great, it is the worst "Ghostbusters" movie, but that's because it is absolutely impossible to top either of the 80s Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters (2016) was a good movie but not a good Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters movies are a 8 out of 10 minimum. Ghostbusters 2016 is a 7 out of 10, great, but not up to Ghostbusters standards, which are instant un-hatable blockbusters, nothing more nothing less.

The cast is amazing, I love Paul and this movie was awesome. I will not compare it to originals because they are all good in their own ways but I'm so proud of these ladies and I had a good laugh. So it's a win for me.

So you love movies that have lame jokes, a horrible story, a terribly written screenplay and CGI ghosts from a mobile phone game? Good to know. The best way I can sum up this movie is my daughter asked me to turn it off after 42 minutes as she was bored. And my wife has absolutely zero interest in ever watching it even though she loves Chris Hemsworth.
@Luna Kitty It's not an opinion, it's a fact. After all the hype had died down all people had to go on was word of mouth and the fact this movie bombed at the box office shows the word of mouth didn't say good things about it. There was a load of merchandise on sale at the time of release that stores just couldn't sell and had to be heavily discounted to clear off the shelves. New merchandise from the original movies also went on sale and heavily outsold anything from the new movie. Again, not an opinion, just facts.

But the fact remains the vast, vast majority of people didn't like the movie and that's why it bombed and that's why Sony plugged the plug on any sequel. Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone's got one but the facts are the facts and opinions don't change the facts. No sequel will ever be made to this movie and tells you everything you need to know about it. Sony have put the franchise into limbo thanks to the people who actually thought this was the way to revive the franchise. Quite clearly it isn't, because what made the previous two movies work had nothing to do with them being Ghostbusters in the first place. It was the chemistry between the main cast who were friends in real life. Dan Akyroyd was good friends with Harold Ramis and was/still is good friends with both Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson. That's why people wanted to see Venkman, Stanz, Spengler and Zeddemore again, not 4 new characters with very little chemistry. You can say it was a good movie until you're blue in the face but the facts don't back your opinions up at all. The only good thing to come out of this movie was Sony firing Paul Feig from the franchise so he won't be involved in Ghostbusters anymore.

It's funny watching the "behind the scenes" on this fucking abhorrent pile of dog vomit. So often the cast do a stupid dance and laugh between takes, while the rest of the production crew in the background have faces like they're at their parents funeral. Says it all really.

When I see this movie on night it feel great to !
On its own rights, its a good movie.
But if you compare it to the original, no. Overly bombastic and talkative.
But that wasnt the point (comparing two movies with a 30+ years gap between).
I liked it. And Chris Hemsworth was excellent.

Because of what came before. It's piggybacking off an established franchise but disregarding everything that happened before. Totally disrespectful. Those other two movies built the franchise, without them this movie would never have been made, and then to disrespect and insult all of that franchsies fans? Utterly ridiculous move, make sure the fans don't show up to watch the movie so you have no chance of turning a profit. Yeah, they went down REAL well with Sony. It also has a woefully inadequate script full of terrible jokes that no one in my movie theatre laughed at, no chemistry between the main cast who acted like they were just there to collect a pay check and CGI straight out of a video game. It honestly felt like a very long SNL parody sketch.

They're not doing anothet movie lmao. Sony pulled the plug on any sequel after this movie made them a loss of $70 Million dollars. It didn't even make it's production budget back, let alone make a profit. Ghostbusters, as of right now, is in limbo. You can expect another reboot IF Sony ever give the green light for another Ghostbusters movie, which right now is extremely unlikely
