I can barely find a single thing I agree with for your review. I’ve ridden everything from Goldwings to KLRs to Crotchrockets to Vespas. This Burgman rocks them all!!
I've got a 2013 Suzuki Burgman and my CVT Works flawlessly
2009 burgman 650 executive and it's the same... Amazing transmission, in fact. Always provides perfect power and speed. These scooter noobs didn't understand how to drive a CVT even though it's so simple. Twist throttle and hold... The transmission does everything else for you. Slowing a bit? Roll off and let the engine break then gently roll back on for a smooth pickup.
I got my 650 Burgman in April and it is a great scooter- motorcycle. I went to the Scooting the Ozarks rally in Sept in Eureka Springs Ar and handled all the rides with ease. In full auto the power button can be used to slow down into the turns with out having to use a lot of brake. I also used the manual side to shift in and out of the turns. After watching this reveiw I know these people did not spent alot of time in the saddle. I also ride with a group of HD riders and keep up just fine.
I love my Burgman 650. You guys are obviously not scooter riders, your assessing scooters by standards for a manual clutch bike.
Slipping clutch? The clutch does not slip unless something was wrong with the one you rode.
I'm not sure these guys were used to a CVT transmission?
crappy reviews about an amazing scooter.
EXACTLY! These guys must be superbike squids or something. I don't have a Burgman, but I rode my partner's today, and I might be selling my BMW K1100 to get one, I was extremely impressed. No hunting for a "gear" (CVT dummies!) no 'clutch' slipping (gimme a break) Handles just fine, very surprising how well it handled the twisties.. very quick for a scooter, actually just very quick period. You can dispatch just about any car from the lights if you need to, plenty of power, comfortable...
I cuncur with all the comments on how poor the reviews were about this vid. They obviously need to do some research on a bike before you go and do a review. In the scooter frenernity it is common knowledge that the CVT give you infinate gear ratios. So when these guys say that the clutch is slipping or that it doesnt seem to know which gear it should be in because the cvt knows your throttle position and will adjust the revs so you always have the right amount power for the speed you are at. I have always felt that my burgman always gives me enough usable power around any corner or overtake. These bikes are such a different riding experience than standard bikes so maybe they should have riden the scooters for a longer period to get their heads round the different characteristics.
+Paul Osman Amen.
Absolutely agree. These riders are complete scooter noobs, which is a concept I've never thought of before even though I ride motorcycles and scooters. It's always the scooter riders getting teased; these guys sound extremely uninformed talking about literally the best scooter on the planet with the most sophisticated and smooth transmission of all. I have a 2009 burgman executive and it's perfect with power both on straights and through curves. It is incredibly smooth and I have zero clue what sort of slipping they are talking about in this laughable review.
"Suzuki and Kymco in the same middle ground territory"?Who is this joker!?!
+Ahmadu Wachuku no idea man. The Burgman is the best fucking scooter lol.
Amen.
Hahaha clutch constantly slipping...that was the funniest comment in the whole video. This guy obviously has NO CLUE about transmissions and what a slipping clutch feels like.
where do they find these people? let alone pay them for a review
Okay, I've had 3 Burgies, and have loved them. Thought they were amazingly quick (kept up with Goldwings), and that they handled very well.
I'll be getting another one soon, and will KEEP this one! :)
Amateur road testers.
Is this a review by the middle schoolers and their creepy uncle? Get some professional riders please.
Don't know what bike they were talking about, but it certainly wasn't the Burgman 650.
those guys purchase a different scooter before the review and when they drove the BURGMAN wanted to put it down,
Burgman is not such a bad name... i like it .
This Shootout is missing the Honda Silver Wing; Honda Integra; BMW Concept 800; Kymco Myroad 700.
whats wrong with them.... this is a legend..
CVT-continuously variable transmission. Congratulations on not knowing what it is and what all scooters have.
They do not understand...this thing is phenomenal with the power mode employed....it keeps the engine in the power band and throttle response is instant, 80-120 kph overtakes are a sinch! I have ridden mine two up at 160 kph which is 100 mph.
yeah i thought that too! He realy shouldnt be reviewing something he doesnt understand.
These guys obviously don't have a clue what a CVT transmission is and how it works.
Yea. But that was 2011 model. I sure they made some fixes in the 2012 thru 2014 models by then according to feedbacks from loyal customers and test riders
Rolando Perez My 2009 650 rides the same as my 2003 650
I WAS ALWAYS HITTING THE POWER BUTTON BECAUSE I WANT MORE POWER?that's 💯 percent evidence he didn't know what the hell he was doing and not only that taking points do to the name burgman? what is wrong with that dude seriously
I bet these guys are used to bikes , not scooters . And they are compairing with the feel of a bike , which you cant do . Ive had numerous bikes and still got a can am spyder along with the 650 burgman . Once you stop compairing it to a bike and start riding it as a scooter , i love it .
You should really check the levels on your vocals, or maybe do a dry run with headphones before you post cause the drastic volume changes really is obtrusive with my enjoyment of your usually very good videos. A little more post Production will go a long way, Great Job otherwise keep up the good work and thanx.
these guys don't have a clue----- someone needs to teach them a thing or two about riding !!!
i have to agree i ride a silverwing but i got a incredable deal on it. the burg is a gr8 scoot if u like scooters and dont expect it to b a ultra nimble sport bike its a wonderful cruiser. it isnt slow its just that when u ride it u want to enjoy the scenery and relax and it isnt hard to turn or anything i rode one be4 i bought my silverwing and it was a gr8 riding scoot well worth the money. it just comes to preference between suzuki and honda or price.
I know others will have similar backgrounds or claim to but I’ve been riding since 1976, bikes, commuter, muscle, and sports, then sports tourers, (large cc.) then scooters came about 20 years ago into my life. As in classic Vespa and Lambretta, I still have a 200 Vespa PX200 which I never ride lol? Then my health went downhill in an handcart. So either give up two wheels or try to keep riding. My last ditch attempt is my 2011 Suzuki Burgman 650. Looking at the reviews I see many real owners calling out this so called review.
I must join the queue.
It’s nothing like they say. It’s brilliant at what it’s made for. Slipping clutch my arse.
hey guys in the video, still better than the Tmax?
Way to give a bike to the completely wrong target market and wonder why they don't like it. Seriously, if you give a cream bun to an athlete, of course they're gonna score it low, but for people who like cream buns, it's great.
Dainese is based in Vicenza, Italy
greetings!
Rollers? Clutch slipping? Hunting what? Do you even know what a Burgman 650 is?
I have this same exact scooter. Color too. I've owned the "2003" 400 a few years ago too. The 650 Burgman handles well, is very fast and with a few modifications, is probably the most comfortable two wheeled vehicle you'll own. This review is crap in my opinion. Check out my CZcams channel to see my 2011 Burgman 650 in action..
I'm an organizer of a 90 member Scooter Club here in NE Ohio.. Guess which scoot is the most popular by far! Yep, the 650 Burgman reigns King in my club..
@TheSogmeister they didnt say it was bad, they pretty much said it could be better
Why dont u make a review of the Honda Silverwing, even if its an older model? It's one of the best scooters and no review from you :(
It's called "skywave" in Japan, personally id just debadge it or get skywave badges from Japan and rebadge it, its proper name.
Well they are obviously wrong :-)
and this is exactly why i'm getting the tmax 530 :) man that bikes sexy!
this was such a PRO Yamaha scooter
All millennials, will take their experiences with a huge clump of salt.
This is like a bunch of children looking at a old Cadillac and saying "what do you want all those buttons for"? If you have to ask you don't understand and I think these fine kids just don't get the Burgman. All the whining and complaining about the transmission and every other feature it has. I bet if you gave them ANY sport bike they would have found wonderful things to say, the Burgman is in a category all it's own!
It was called a Burgman long before Americans discovered unleaded fuel!:)) .....something exciting my ass...
UPDATE: With nearly 4,000 miles on my 2013 Burgman 650, I really have to laugh at this inept "review". Obviously, none of these guys understand anything about a scooter and even less about a Burgman. I certainly hope their ignorance doesn't dissuade anyone from checking out the Burgman 650, as it's the best scooter you can buy in the USA...and maybe the world! These nitwits should stick to conventional motorcycles and leave maxi-scooter reviews to those who know something about them!!!
@DeathPunch4000 You do realize you're not the only person in the world don't you?
mantaaap
I do not know much English, but if these people comparing a burgman650 with a Kymco, I think they do not understand anything about motorbikes.
So they road it on a trip. but none of these 27 year kids have taken the bike touring over 45,000 mile for the pass 10 years have they? Nope. The Burgman is for professionals. Go home kids.
This bike will hurt me.
Kymco and Burgman in the same ground.... cmon!!! U need to learn more about any scooter before you do this kind of show!
Nothing wrong with scooters, but I think its kinda funny to talk about cornering aggressively...scooters are more or less commuters.
Bad review! One of the worst I have ever seen.
The first thing I noticed about the bike was that the clutch is inconsistent, it lowers the gear when there is any roll off from throttle. Practically braking the bike , there is no bike or scooter that I have had that does this under any circumstance, when I myself have owned a Helix, GSF 500,TW200. there is definitely a problem with the CVT when a bike rider with more experience than I has a problem with the bike.
Pretty useless review. These guys obviously don't know much about scooters...and even less about HOW to ride a Burgman. The "shoot-out" itself lacks credibility, as the bikes aren't in the same class (a 500-vs-650?). A REAL test of super maxi-scooters (for the USA) would be something like the Honda Silverwing - BMW GT650 - Kymco MyRoad - and the Burgman 650. BTW..."the clutch kept slipping"??? "weird clutch"??? Duhh... The bike doesn't have a clutch...smh.
These guys are so wrong, this scooter is amazing especially long trips, GO BURGMAN 650, you ROCK😂😂❤
To all reviewer, it’s a freaking scooter not a sport bike. Point a to b.
Dummys I have 46000 miles on mine. Done The Tail of The Dragon not squirly as they claim just have to trust her. Power Buttons is for passing or more engine braking if needed. It's at home on city streets as freeway driving. I wish it had a bigger tank "Longer Range" just hate getting off to fill her is all. They should know their product a little better

Rubbish review for an excellent scooter, these guys are clueless. Glad I liked the Burger well before I saw this terrible review. Booo!!
Seriously, this might be the worst review of any kind that I have ever read. Change the name, now that is the beginning of a great review. Can't find a gear, CVT doesn't have gears. I guess you people probably ride crotch rockets and of course this bike is not going to compare to them. I had a 1400 cruiser before this and I would ride the 650 every day compared to the cruiser. I think it's handling is great, the balance is low and it corners easier than any bike I have had.
Muy bien
I have a 2005 Burgman 650 that I purchased used 2weeks ago, the bike has been down on both sides, lower panels are a mess and the right hand brake lever is bent , the bike was owned by a guy who has a Harley and a Hyabusa'got the bike for his wife because he thought an auto transmission would be great learning bike, she went down on it to once(left side) thinking it was due to her incompetence he started using the bike and in two weeks of using the bike also went down on it(right side).
Ok, so we all know it is NOT a GSXR, so just for putting around town and not trying to redline it, is it a good scooter? Because obviously these guys are trying to take it to motogp
These dudes don’t know what they are talking about! Very poor reviews, it’s not the Burgman, it’s the rider that’s the problem
Worst review ever? Yup!
Utter crap!
I concur with you and the other negative appraisals of these "reviewers"
I know this is 3 years old but, These clowns have no clue. Anyone can make a video and post on youtube.
Clutch? Not finding a gear? It's call CVT.
The other guy was repeatedly hitting the power button as if it's some kind of nitrous boost? LOL.....
I'll ignore anything else I see from this channel.
What a FAIL. Weights on the Burgman? Not too bright... Hitting the power for more? Trying to be snarky? Ignorant. The power button keeps the motor at a higher RPM band. These guys are amateurs at best. I appreciate an objective review and don't disagree with the findings or liking the T-Max more, but you failed on research. NOT renewing my MotoUSA subscription. FAIL.
haha every video of this shootout is full of pissed comments about it being a scooter video. Guess what, there are all types of riders!
I'm never going to be into scooters- I own an RC51 and 600RR, I'm a sport/track rider, but come on guys get real! We aren't the only ones out there!
