- Can I cut my own hair? Join me as we go grab the clippers and I attempt to cut my hair for the first time ever.
Between Covid-19 and being full-time RVers, well, it became a case of desperate times, desperate measures. We'll see if I got the "cut it yourself" family gene.
By the way, this is not a "how to cut your own hair video", but more of a how I cut my own hair video.

Looks great! I cut my hair with clippers for the first time a couple days ago and I’ve PAID for haircuts a lot worse than the one I gave myself.

Exactly !! I followed Brad Mondo-s tutorial & it came out better than a £70 hair cut & blow dry at the hairdresser! Secret is though go to Amazon & buy some REAL hairdressing scissors,the lovely lady who.posted this video just needed some thinning scissors on the length at the top x
I've cut my own hair with scissors for years, and I've learned by trial and error. Rather make my own mistakes than pay someone to mess it up.

I did my short hair to pixie cut yesterday and gave it a pink/lilac colour. I love it. Watching your video today brought back the initial fear I had and then “what the hell, it’ll grow back” attitude. Haha!! Well done, awesome vid and thank you so much for sharing. 👍👍👍

I was due a haircut when we started lockdown in the UK, my hair is cut every 6 weeks as it gets unruly. You've given me the courage to have a go myself-as you say it will grow back! Yours looks great!

Been cutting my own hair for years now, just to save money and it's not bad at all. The very first time I did it, I thought, what's the worst that could happen. What's the best that could happen. And that would be I could get it too short, but it would grown back or I could get it just right. Well, I got it just right and I can give it a trim whenever I feel the need. So Good on me and You did a great job too! xo

Thanks for posting this video. My formerly adorable pixie haircut has been growing out since January and I can't go get it cut by my stylist because my husband had lung surgery and we are terrified about him getting Covid so are super-sheltering at home. My hair is just in my face all the time and I have to pin it back with barrettes like a 3-year-old. I've been toying with the idea of just buzzing my whole head but you have given me the confidence to at least TRY cutting it properly first. Your lovely "I'll do my best" attitude is just what I needed today. Wish me luck...

Bravo! And thank you. I was looking for a do-it-myself video because I can't stand the length of my normally short, short hair. All the ones I saw before this made me shake my head unh-un. The result was not where I wanted to go and the hair usually was too young -- as in I ain't never gonna look like that. You've given me courage.

Oh you did a wonderful job! It look so cute!!! I generally keep my hair that short, but with the shut down, it's very long for me and VERY unruly. I bought some shears and a clipper, I'm going to try it myself. And yes, it's just hair, it will grow back!! :)

I went nuts and did whack off a hunk right in the front by mistake but it's workin' for now! It feels great and I can spike mine once again! It'll grow back and I wear a hat when I go out!

My husband and were watching together because I am going to cut my own hair. My hair looks like yours did before you cut it and I have the same motto. It'll grow back because the only difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is 3 weeks. You are a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing

Omg. 1st off you did an awesome job! I've been cutting my own since I was about 14-15. After having 6 boys I just don't have the time or patience for 'long' hair. Your video popped up randomingly and it caught my eye. You remind me of myself in about 20-25 yrs!! Love your upbeat and funny personality. Lol. I've had that same haircut a dozen times too! Love it! You can spike it up or let it go 'bedhead'! You can tint it a light color like purple or pink...ANYTHING to perk up those around us. This virus thing is sad...together we WILL get thru it. I do wish I’d seen this yesterday. Your attempt was more successful than mine. I attempted mine and now have some long bits some bald bits and some straggly bits. Absolutely horrific. Oh please let lockdown be over so I can see my hairdresser.
I had some longer bits too and went back afterwards to trim them up...I'm hoping all our wonderful barbers and beauticians and hair cutters can get back to work soon.

You're terrific! I've cut my own many, many times over the years, and it's common (in fact, 100% of the time) to keep fiddling with it after it's done, plus the mess in the bathroom it makes ... which is why I stopped. (I did use quarantine to grow it a bit this time, though I still have my tools.) Product will definitely help you enjoy it more as we wait for the stylists to open, and you earned it--after all, you saved money on the cut! It's cute.

Thanks for the great video. I cut 20 inches off my hair with scissors a month ago. It look fine, but I wanted it a bit shorter in back. So I want to try with clippers now. I don't have a #8, so it will be a couple more days while I wait for one to come from Amazon. Thanks again, your video is giving me the courage to take it a bit shorter.

Hi from Australia, Betsy. I guess there’s thousands of us in the same boat so this week, I did just the same as you. Not quite as short because I had a number 10 guard, but I did the same thing as you at the front and oops, I have to cover it by combing the longer bits over it! With some mousse and a bit of styling gel to spike it up, it looks great and feels tons better. Well done....yours looks terrific.

Your hair looks great. I've cut my own hair 5 times since the virus closed the hair salons. It's short like yours. It's been slightly different each time but not too bad and if it goes wrong, it grows quite quickly. I used a scissors, never thought of using clippers, too afraid to try.

Bravo! It looks just great, and I bet it feels even better! I cut mine about three weeks ago with the clippers. In the process, I cut all the colour off! Didn't realize how white it is, holy cow! I've gotten mixed reviews but everyone is impressed with my bravery..lol. I enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing. One little piece of advice. If you get a pair of thinning shears, you can soften up any edges, and it helps if you want to spike it.

Your hair must have grown back in the meantime now that your hairdresser most likely has opened up her shop. I had shoulder-length hair which I cut into a pixie around the time when you cut yours.. I guess most women globally had the same need out of frustration. We proved to ourselves that we couldn't ignore looking in the mirror without looking good while being 'locked up".

Good job! Been cutting my hair since I was in my early teens. Have done this cut almost every summer for the last 15 years or so. One of the first clipper cuts, I forgot to reattach the #8 after doing some trimming and buzzed right into the temple area. Not able to save that one so cut the rest the same shortness. It always grows back as loyal as a best friend.

Isn't it funny, we cut our hair and it just feels good whether or not its great. This coming from someone who had terrible cuts and wouldn't trust just anyone with hair. So, I carefully cut a bunch off and am content. Nice job.
