![[NEW] Hello iLOK: How to Make the Switch](/img/n.gif)
Hi - I am fairly new to sample library’s but getting there importing samples into Logic Pro. I wanted to download the Big Bang free software and I must admit it is tougher than expected. I followed all the prompts to create an account with iLok and then Vienna assistant then Vienna Synchron player. I went to install the Big Bang samples in logic as a new instrument by clicking on + then software instrument then AU then VSL then create. Selecting the new instrument patch opened the Synchron player but no Big Bang. Neither can I find a logical icon that would say “load”. Going back into Vienna assistant Big bang is definitely installed. How do I get the 2 to talk to one another? Peter.
I got as far as downloading the Vienna Assistant then... Tried to load but (even after many attempts) nothing happened...
hi Paul, do i need tore-download and re-install everything,or can i just point to the libraries already on my second drive via the assistant? with libraries for kontakt i have libraries on the computer drive but also a copy of all the libraries on a portable drive, so if something goes wrong with the library on the computer is just have to copy the library from the portable HD to the computer HD
and then start NI's assistant and click repair and show the library path, can you do the same thing with VSLs assistant?
Hi Ronny, you have to download each library again, as it's not possible to use eLicenser content with the iLok players. - Ben

I have sorted it - I needed to activate them in iLoc
How to repair a product? The Remove button does'nt work and if I press the relocate button I don't know which folder I have to choose?

If I delete my old elicenser files, like the video says to free up space, will that affect my old projects?
Hi, thanks for the kind words. Your old projects will open "automagically", so you can safely go ahead and delete the old eLicenser content files.

Hi Paul, i have switched all my licenses of my products and everything is now set for me to download my products using the new Vienna Assistant. I am a little confused though to be honest? I have opened up the assistant and have chosen the NOT INSTALLED tab and it is showing ALL my products ready to be downloaded and installed etc! Under the software section, it shows VEPRO 7 (which i have ) but this shows in the assistant as VEPRO7 + MIR PRO? I DON'T HAVE MIR PRO? So how do i download my new ilok version of VEPRO7 on it's own? Also, do i have to re-download the SYNCHRON PLAYER (SAMPLE PLAYER) . Lastly, do i delete all the elicenser libraries FIRST before downloaded the ilok versions? Thank you in advance for any assistance?! Best Regards.
Hi! MIR Pro is embedded in VE Pro (always has been), so if you have a license for MIR Pro as well, you can use it this way. - Paul

I'm in the middle of a project and needed som solo strings, just bought the synchron solo strings, well this really backfired.

Hi Remus, No way around downloading the newly crypted and optimized iLok sample content, I'm afraid. We are offering constant sales and special pricing for our products as a compensation.

Hi, the Assistant says I need to "Repair" my free big bang orchestra. Yet clicking repair does nothing, and it didn't install so I can't locate it. What can I do to solve this?
Try closing the Assistant, right clicking on the icon and then "Run as Administrator". Then re-try the repair procedure. If this doesn't work please contact us via support@vsl.co.at - Ben
Is there a purge option, that I can free hard drive space when some of the libraries are not needed in the next monhs?
You can simply delete or move the data... - Paul

I’m a little confused. If I have my VSL libraries on a external ssd, should I delete them and then re- download them again?

@@mazetoeden9334 - I did mine yesterday. It wasn’t so bad. I first went and deposited all my licenses to my iLok account from VSL site. Then I used iLok Manager to move the licenses to my iLok. Then I went on and erased all the old libraries (I have all VSL stuff on one SSD), then reinstalled everything back, including the software (sample players etc.) using their new download assistant app. Took about 2-3 hours but I used the bulk install feature and all I had to do is just keep an eye of it from time to time.

the re-download took forever cause I don't have WIFI I'm only working off a hotspot from my phone. But that wasn't even the big issue. The big issue was I couldn't activate my licenses on iLok until a couple of hours later I realized I had to activate an iLok cloud!... then it all worked perfectly fine ayayay
My email says I'm logged in to the app. It says "Open Shop". I'm not able to download anything I own.
Please make sure you already converted the licenses to iLok and after that restart the Vienna Assistant. Also check on the left side in the Assistant if the products are listed in the NEW area. If you still can't access the libraries contact us via support@vsl.co.at

is this app fully accessible to blind users? I'm blind and I usually need sighted assistance with getting things downloaded from the website.

Yes, that's necessary, because the whole content needed to be crypted with a new copy protection. You will also benefit from updated preset structures, included updates and expansions, so it will be worth your while. - Paul
Do I understand the steps to be: get iLOCK account, link VSL & iLOck accounts, deposit licenses, manage licenses (cloud or key). Get mail confirmatrion, erase volumes with currently installed libraries (!), use Vienna Assistant to re-download and re-install ALL LIBRARIES, then drink coffee?

@@ViennaSymphonicLibrary To your health, Paul. Still, erasing and re-installing everything appears a bit critical (e.g. something better not go wrong), not to mention the "down time". However, I suppose you can't have omelets without breaking eggs ;-)
You are right, it is critical, and we have spent a lot of time to make this as flawless as possible. You also have the option to order one of our Vienna Harddrives (www.vsl.co.at/harddrive) or work with some other transition strategies: czcams.com/video/T9N-NLrNj-s/video.html.
I heard that there's a way to extract eggs without breaking them... the benefit is some cool easter decoration. Let's see what we're cooking up this year for easter time. - Paul
@@ViennaSymphonicLibrary You are probably right: the benefits should grow with the capabilities implemented into the architecture - starting with Vienna Assistant.
Come to think of it, if the format of the newly downloaded data is still very similar to existing samples, then shouldn't the total space requirement be roughly be same? If not, that's a critical piece if info to know about... Could the assistant be coaxed into calculating space for us (given the number of drives) and suggesting packaging?
Remember.. This was YAMAHA's Decision... Not VSL.. Keep up...
Is it just my imagination or when he points up towards the right side of the screen supposedly to indicate a link to iLok there is nothing there. The whole iLok Vienna Assistant is a mess so a link would be useful.

Wirklich noch nie so ein Müll gesehen sowas von Kompliziert seit 8 Stunden versuche ich eine Bibliothek hinzuzufügen Erfolglos hab es aufgeben werde mir kein weiteres Produkt kaufen und einfach bei NI bleiben noch nie sowas gesehen was so dermaßen Kompliziert ist wie bei euch schade!
Hi! Wir haben von sehr vielen Usern das komplette Gegenteil gehört. Daher können wir mit Gewissheit sagen, dass unsere Produkte definitiv nutzbar sind. Meist liegt es nur an kleineren Problemen, die schnell behoben sind; daher versuch doch mal unseren support via mail anzuschreiben support@vsl.co.at - Ben
I know what you mean. Haven't used VSL before but want to give it a go so started with a free one(celestial strings) but can make no sense of installation and iLok licences. I do understand that a lot of the problem is iLok but a bad move to move to it (especially when one reason given for doing so is to make things easier!)
