I am sorry about their situation, but nobody helped me when i was homeless, living in my car and lost my job (2008) without a job or a family. And i am not an alcoholic or take drugs. A $72 voucher PER NIGHT for one month equals $2160!!! I live in upstate NY and my mortgage is a lot less than that and my 2 girls and I are currently being foreclosed on. I work 40hrs a week and am an American citizen. Some of my tax dollars are going towards housing these illegals. If I had access to those vouchers I would not be losing my home. But yes…we should focus on housing the illegal immigrants who don’t respect our laws. Honestly makes me sick to my stomach.

So if an "ideal" family is 1-2 kids, we lose ground. With our 1.64 fertility rate, we're not replacing ourselves. So, we do it via immigration. That's why Trump built a wall, which he knew wouldn't work. He's a businessman, and knows as well as anyone that our economy runs on immigrants.

How can he compare the past with the present situation? He left out a financial breakdown and cost comparison. When those migrants arrived in the past things were NOT like they are today. They were still building housing back then and homes did not cost 8x the average salary. These arguments have no basis in reality. The bottom line is that Americans need help now like ever before. We have senior citizens and families with children who work full time living in their cars and in tents. The US does not have the resources or housing for these migrants or anyone else right now. Period.

Inflation hits the poorest(elderly, disabled, vets, homeless hardest because they are on a fixed income. There are still approximately 25 million people left behind in Venezuela that will gradually make their way toward the Southern border due to word of mouth, in addition to over 600 Million from surrounding countries, that will be encouraged to come and finally end up in New York, Chicago, and other cities around the US. There are also thousands of unwanted pregnancies developing as we speak, by among the ones already here, and pregnant women, prior to their arrival, for the objective of obtaining free food, medical care, and financial assistance among other governmental benefits. And with Now giving them work permits, will not give any relief to the already existing financial burden to the U.S government, you ask WHY? because, once they earn any little money, they will not want to spend it to survive, as they will just continue to blend in with the other asylum seekers and continue to receive all the benefits, they've been receiving from the get go. I am Asian and I admit I do not know much about American politics and economy. But I know that many Americans are still struggling because they are paying their college loans. This prevents them from gaining financial stability. Why spend so much on migrants when Americans are suffering financially. And yes, I came from a poor country but I still do not think that what the government is doing is correct, economically and socially. The only explanation that I can come up with is that these politicians are getting something from the budget for these migrants. Forgive me, but corruption, that I know, coming from a country that had been under a dictator for 20 yrs.

Driving down wages and driving up housing costs. Then there are all the benefits they get. Someone has to pay for all that, which is hard working taxpayers. Many places most affected are reducing services and raising taxes significantly. Prime example is NYC. Many financial businesses and super-rich people have moved out. They see what's coming.

I came to the United States through the proper procedures. First, I came here after applying and being granted a tourist visa. Once here, I decided I wanted to stay. So, I went back to immigration and applied for residency. It took little time for this to be approved. Again, I went through the proper procedures. Filing the application and paying the associated fees that go with it. After putting in some years and following other necessary requirements, I applied to be a US Citizen. I was granted Citizenship and it's a privilege to get one, not a right. I am grateful for what I have and all the opportunities that came my way. I don't believe in government handouts and the entitlement many people feel they deserve. I also don't agree with politicians who feel with such. It's all political crap. This is the biggest mistake ever made, This administration didn't investigate what happened to south america countries in the last 6-7 years? criminality, robbing. prostitution, extorsion, blackmail, etc increased over a 100% - 200% because of criminal organizations such as "Tren de Aragua" (similar or even worse to "Maras Salvatruchas" in El Salvador and we know how was that country for the last 20-30 years god bless Bukele for what he did/doing) Colombia, Ecuador, Peru. They admit that at least 4-5 million have came since Biden took office. Half of the states in the United States don't even have over 5 million people in each one. There have been more illegals that have came in the past few years than the entire populations of Kentucky, Oklahoma, Oregon, Alabama, Kansas, etc. etc. etc. etc.
