Otrera is the new brand of Sananas, a famous French CZcamsr. She named her brand after Otrera who was in Greek mythology the creator and first Queen of the Amazons.
I also have and enjoy her first palette created three years ago in collaboration with Sephora.

That is great, I think, for those of us who have painful hands due to arthritis. Beautiful look! (I wanted to add that I loved the message behind the brand that you read to us. I love strong women lifting up other women. I think of you as a strong woman, you do so much and are able to push through despite chronic pain, etc. 💜💜💜)

Hi Mel! Thanks for reviewing a new brand. And gosh darn it if you don't learn something new every day, Otrera (aw tree rah) is the lesson today. Makes sense of the shade names! "In Greek mythology, Otrera was the creator and first Queen of the Amazons; the consort of Ares and mother of Hippolyta and Penthesilea. She is credited with being the founder of the shrine of Artemis in Ephesus. Wikipedia"
I do that a lot too! Mine is called being on meds that affects my eyes terribly&Addisons Disease. If I’m really having a bad day it affects my speech too which could be my Multiple Sclerosis! I would love To try out this brands.

Oh goodness! That is what my mom has and what doctors think I may have. Actually, my mom, grandfather, aunt and one more family member has it. My mom has the more dangerous of the primary or secondary. I know it’s not hereditary but it definitely rubs though my family. I’m sorry… I know what you go through. 💔

Have you ever thought about being tested for it yourself? Do you have symtoms of Addisons? What symptoms does you and your mom have. You know, Addisons is really scary, I had a stroke last May due to my Addisons and Multiple Sclerosis. As well as a bladder disease called IC. My husband is my caretaker when he’s home and family and friends as well as my daughter are here quite often.
Such a beautiful look, Mel! I love this eye look with your tattoos. It makes the green in both pop! I prefer this style of tutorial, where you do both eyes at the same time, rather than having one eye done, and showing the second. I appreciate seeing your process and first impressions. I’m dyslexic and saw Oterra so don’t feel alone! I’m a few minutes in and This brand looks so beautiful, the shadows look gorgeous! The colors are earthy and smooth!

Wow what a lovely look! This brand is very intriguing to me; i love when brands make a statement and have a mission beyond just beauty. The quality looks good, and the color story seems like it would have something for nearly every skin tone and preference. I am looking forward to seeing what else they release in the future. Side note, i totally agree about double-ended brushes; i absolutely hate them. If i can't store them in my brush cup, i can't be bothered to try and figure out how to store them. I'll usually see if my daughter wants them; if not, they go right in the trash.

Hmmmm, nice pro tip on using a puff to pull your eye/cheek down gently..... I have the Blendiful, I'll try that! I wouldn't mind trying the Otrera puff either.

Mel I finally broke down and bought the lipstick and both liners hoping it gives you support for things, I did have a question though -- did they change the formula for the smooches liner? The one I got has a green tint to it and doesn't look like the pics online or how it looks on you -- I know sometimes formulas change without the company telling the collaborator like morphe changing the og jaclyn palette formula so just trying to see if you'd heard anything. I love the lipstick just can't use the darker liner because it's greenish and when I add the lipstick on top it turns into an armyish green khaki color 🤷♀️

When ever I get a double ended brush I give it to my husband - he halves it, then makes "handles", which he attaches using some industrial strength glue. The result is two brushes!
I hate double ended brushes, storage is a pain in the butt.

Whew Mel, you are not the only one having trouble pronouncing the name of this brand. O-TRE-RA, O-TRE-AH? It's not pleasing to my mouth to say😄 Pretty eye-look!
It's supposed to be pronounced O-TRE-RA but this syllabes are hard to pronounce for english speaker so it's totally normal that you struggle with it 😄 also the shade name are difficult if english is your mother language so pronounce it the way that work for you is cool 😊
