    Amazing video because I too had a situation where I was extremely mad over a shopping trip I had on Monday. I almost lost my temper and I had to take a step back remind myself not to behave like I did before converting to Orthodoxy. I feel very much at peace after hearing you speak about this subject. Blessings to you and all Orthodox Christians. ☦️

    I find it extremely hard to control thoughts, I often have too many running through my head. I can't even put in to a simple sentence what I'm feeling, because of the onslaught of thoughts. I believe it's partly due to an infirmity, but it's definitely exacerbated by challenging life experiences, and it's really a burden for me. I always struggle in confession because I can't collect my thoughts (which are too many already..)

      @@living_orthodox It was when I was like 2 years old. It was in the name of the trinity and triple emersion but it's weird because my parents say I don't have a saint name. I understand sacraments don't exist outside the eastern orthodox church so I think I will just say I was not baptized or just not omit it since if i don't, according to OCA policy, they will probably receive me by Chrismation. Father, a huge hurtle i have with Orthodoxy is the heterodox views. How can you believe that with verses like john 3:16 when you dont need the church for salvation just the belief that Christ is Lord. Can you help me understand

    • @acekoala457
      @acekoala457 Před 8 měsíci +1

      The Church is the Body of Christ, His Bride, His Kingdom.
      How can you say Jesus is Lord without being part of His Body?

    • @living_orthodox
      @living_orthodox  Před 8 měsíci +4

      That’s never what John 3:16 is saying. It’s heterodox and originally a Gnostic idea that you didn’t need the Church. Being joined to the body of believes and the avenue to salvation is shown through Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians and 2 Thessalonians. Jesus came to establish a Church. Not a gloried school of philosophy made of mental ascents.

      @@living_orthodox i pray you do not take offense as i really am trying to learn but isn’t this the kind of thought the pharisee had toward Christ? In terms of relying on tradition more than the word? If im wrong correct me please.

    • @living_orthodox
      @living_orthodox  Před 8 měsíci +6

      @@theonly1689 no. The opposite. They relied more on a hyper literal “Torah only” view. They never believed God could become man. The traditions they fell into were meant to bend the law to their will and weaknesses and again, they were so hyper literal as many Sola Scriptura Protestants are, they denied God could become man.

    So the church doesn’t pay for a priest to move to serve?

    • @living_orthodox
      @living_orthodox  Před 8 měsíci +3

      No. They are paying me a livable wage and I am very grateful. But to move is an expensive endeavour, and beyond what the parish can simply pay. A moving truck alone can cost $4000 plus and that’s more than what I make a month. The parish pays the priest individually. We don’t have the kind of money that papists do, nor what you’d find in an Orthodox country.
