You're just hearing the second harmonic of that absolutely mega G4 from the lead! It is an overtone, and it SLAPS

That G5 is the second harmonic of the lead’s note, and the fifth harmonic of the bass’ note. Since they’re sung so perfectly in tune, the sound waves producing that overtone get amplified. The talent required to produce that sound is INSANE either way, but yeah that’s an overtone for sure :) plus it goes away when they add vibrato because the harmony isn’t locked in anymore

I really want to learn to sing that highest tenor part. But my natural voice is a baritone
YO YOU GOT THIS! I’m a natural voice baritone as well but I learned how to sing falsetto,, and once learning you just have to develop the skill to sing it stronger! It’s a process, but I believe in you!

@@planet_b1ue just use it alot. I have a natural bari voice but I enjoy singing high so I use my falsetto alot. If I went to a teacher I could probably get it even better, but don't underestimate how good you can get it just by using it frequently

This vid helped me a bit! I was in choir as a bari for 2 years and after choir it took me a year to discover how to sing falsetto 😱
