    I put together the vocals that Aaliyah showcased throughout her career. She had a brillant tone, timbre, and fasletto voice. I still don't know what her actual range would be, but I know it's bigger.

    Her voice is so versatile, she got solid low notes like a contralto. Yet light bright high notes like a soprano. Which clearly tells me she's a Mezzo (Lyric Mezzo). I love her tone :)

      Just because she sounds full in the lower register doesn't make her a Mezzo soprano. Why can't she just be a Full Lyric Soprano with crazy head voice ability to deliver fluid low notes like a Contralto.

    I noticed that she sings better with her shades on or if others are on the stage with her. When she has to look the crowd in the eyes, or if all attention is on her, she seems very uncomfortable. I think the Oscars was the most frightening moment for her live.

    Barely any of her material demonstrated her real capabilities. This is coming from a big fan of hers. Had she ventured into jazz or neo soul she probably would have demonstrated more of a vocal prowess. She possessed the phrasing, tone, and conviction. She would have been amazing singing the standards. Everyone should listen to the 5 seconds of "My funny valentine" she sang on her Craig Kilbourne interview and you would definitely catch my drift.

    @MaxamillionJuly I agree. Non- professional. Reports render evidence that they display "harass." She's one of those artist who hits when she wanted. Some days were better than others. Her live performances demonstrate the occurrances. Every artists has there ups and downs. She's performing arts. Those courses are selected and taught in order to profess talent. I do not agree with the way her octives are displayed, because music is written and decoded. Consider it a challenge amongst maturity.

  • @Angelfully
    @Angelfully  Před 15 lety +1

    I don't know about that. Tank and Missy, did sing lower harmonies on her music so you have to distinguish those voices. Plus I see you are going by Crunkboi's video (not to diss him, I applaud his effort), but the notes are lower than it is actually suppose to be. Maybe he used a different scale like the alto-saxophone scale. But the piano/flute C scale is the scale that should be used to measure vocal range.

    its aaliyahs fault that she died? if u feel she has an average voice thats your opinion but to say her death was her fault is a lil cruel. if she was psychic and could predict the future im sure she wouldnt have gotten on that plane. she was very anxious to go home and be with her family. whats wrong with that? stfu and know your facts before u talk a whole bunch of nonsense. and for the record you dont have to have a powerful voice like beyonce or whitney to be a good singer.

    Her tone was light and pretty but her tessitura lied in the Contralto range and without the huskiness. I prefered her low register more. When she sings in the middle register, she has stronger texture than a Soprano would. However, she had an AMAZING head voice. She loses vocal weight as she enters her chest register.

Like you said vocal range doesn't determine a voice type. Key word: Voice type. The maker of this video didn't say she's a contralto. Anyone with a pair of ears knows that Aaliyah isn't a contralto. A contralto is Amy Winehouse and Etta James. Those are contraltos. Not Aaliyah. Please, don't go around saying Aaliyah is one. People will laugh.

    @AaliyahDawnTEAM Actually, Janet fans in general have nothing against Aaliayh.
    Aaliyah always spoke highly of Janet and was really influenced by Jan. Its just her stans/fans that want to get catty with the Janet fans/stans by coming for Janet. I just hope the rest of the Janet clan don't come on here. It will get really ugly.
