@@johnw3736 Yeah it's pretty cartoonish tbh. Maybe not EVERYONE in the UK, because remember we are four countries with very different ways of speaking even within those countries... but yeah if you're from the South of England, and CERTAINLY if like me you're from London, you will immediately recognise that he's a posh boy putting on a voice. It's just not realistic.

I saw him smile more in this interview than in every episode of Ted Lasso combined. Idk how he snaps into “Roy Kent mode” on the show because he seems like a very jovial and friendly guy who would love to banter with the cast and have a good time.

When Ted and Isaac come around the corner and Roy's phone lights up his face and it scares Ted and Isaac!! That was too funny. This show is seriously my favourite show of all time.
I love how he’s a likeable and affable guy in real life. Roy Kent is truly his deepest darkest alter ego.
Everyone should listen to "Films to be Buried With." It's a podcast that Brett hosts where he brings on guests and they discuss the guests' lives through film. I always say it's kind of like Brett came up his own version of the Pivot Questionnaire (the thing that James Lipton would always ask the actors at the end of "Inside The Actors Studio") but it's all different questions about films. It's very similar in that the Pivot Questionnaire is supposed to be a great way to learn about someone through a series of questions of varying depth, as in some seem arbitrary and some are very deep, and Brett brilliantly came up with his own questions, but they're all about the films that have affected you or been memorable to you for good or bad reasons, in your life. It's great, and Brett is a great host. Highly recommend.

Roy Kent is based on a real footballer called Roy Keane. He's Irish and played for United. He's arguably tougher and even more grumpy.
It's not based on Roy Keane, it's based on a million hardman footballers over the years in England it's most definitely not based on any one player, if it was he's more Jones than Keane

I was pleasantly surprised to find out he was a part of Ted Lasso when I started watching it. Hes in a few other British comedy shows that i love and so happy hes getting more recognition.

I first really saw him in the BBC Three show Uncle, I'd guess that's why he's playing Roy because his other character in Uncle was very similar
