I love pears!! I have 2 pear trees. I only eat from on because the other produces very small fruit that never seem to ripen. But it does a great job at pollinating the tree I do eat from because it produces so much. Last season I filled 15 grocery bags to the brim. Like stuffed the bags to the max. I keep 3 bags and share the rest with friends and family. I just planted peaches and prunes. Can't wait to harvest in a few years.

Great video. I've heard other CZcamsrs mention that one variety will take over but no one mentioned that you can just prune it aggressively to prevent this.

Thanks for this, very informative! I think mine has an interstem - does the first one in this video have an interstem? Im trying to understand whether i can bury the first graft point or not. If the interstem roots, how that might affect the size of the tree.

Are you grafting when they are dormant? I thought they needed to be waking up to graft

It's best when they are starting to wake up, but I've done both ways, and they worked.
