      @@theresonlyonetruep3 Yep. Murray's game isn't just running and being a human wall, its tactical and touch play. He was slowly growing into Wimbledon but Shapovalov was a step too far at this point in his recovery.
      He played well in little bursts and then made errors he'd never make at his peak, but it was good to see him up for the fight. 2 breaks down and still believed he could get back on terms in that set. Same in the second set. Went out on his shield.
      Also Shapovalov played brilliantly. What a huge talent he is. Lefty with a big serve, huge groundstrokes, vision and touch. Wonder if he might do big things.

Because some idiot ball kid ran out onto the court, paid no attention whatsoever to their surroundings or the players they are supposed to be working with, and got trucked accidentally? Then Dzumhur goes wayyyyyyy out of his way to be overly nice to the little brat. Anyone can see he is a nice, thoughtful person. Happened to me a dozen times while playing, and I wasn't cheating, you just see the wrong one where you suppose the right one is, because you looked away, moved, etc. The thing that the umpire showed, well, let's just say that I don't think that it's even a mark.

      Firstly, the written comments about Robin Soderling are incorrect, eggaerated, stating it as a "meltdown". It was complaining, and was a valid complaint. The chair umpire looked for mark to confirm what he seemed to see from his position in the chair, on the surface. He was actually unable to find one, but pointed to the location he thought there would be a mark. the video replay confirmed the chair umpire's error, but no replay nor electronic system was nor is used at these clay tournaments.
      This is one of many situations the give give reason to have an electronic line call system available for all courts, and also a replay system, which includes other calls like double bounce, hits, order of events, etc. In addition, a better system than the widely used [older design] of "Hawkeye" should become a standard, which uses "actual" video capture for every moment and many more angles to determine actual ball placement, location when the ball contacts the surface [Forten or if others available]. Additions and modifications to the rules needs to be made for replay. Also, see ATP NextGen Finals where an accurate [probably FORTEN] electronic line calling system has been in use since 2017, without line judges.

    This is the only thing I don't like about tennis i.e players behaving rudely against umpires and continuing to argue. In any sports, umpires/ref must be the ultimate authority on the spot otherwise there will be chaos. In cricket, if players even as little as shows any annoying gestures towards umpires, let alone continuing to argue, they get docked severely, it helps keep everyone in check.

    • @freakytea2815
      @freakytea2815 Před 4 lety +1

      I'm not sure what year that was, but it could have been before they implemented the challenge system. For a while, you could see it at home on TV, but it wasn't officially part of the game yet. And even with the current system, the player has to challenge the call for them to look at the video. They have a limited number of challenges, and if they are wrong too many times and run out of challenges, there's nothing they can do, even though we can see that the call was incorrect. It really makes no sense. The umpires should be able to review close calls at their discretion, but instead they have a very half-assed way of going about things, just to increase the "drama" for the viewers.

  • @baccaratroulettewinninggri1849

    9:25 if you slow motion playback ball was clearly to the left where he was pointing. The thing is Ball was called out which is in Soldering favor, why argue the mark?

    • @davidtsang4949
      @davidtsang4949 Před 3 lety +2

      You'd think Soderling screwed himself by pointing at the wrong mark except the umpire also got it wrong according to that replay. So even if Robin pointed at the right mark, the ump somehow pointed to another mark that showed it was in (which is incredulous given how far the ball is out according to that replay)
