The Yorkshire Dales by narrowboat. Cruising through The Dales to Gargrave, a busy day on the canal in summer ,walking part of The Pennine Way and an 127 year old narrowboat
great video as normal, that 127 year old boat...... there is a replica in the marina very similar, we have been bumping into them for a while now, three foot draft, not great for this canal! Also bumped into Slum today!! Happy Christmas to you both, the first time grumpy here has said that!!!!
The Pennine Way is about 270 miles in total. It also joins the L&L Canal at East Marton. Most people take about 2 1/2 weeks to do the complete walk averaging about 15 miles a day. Of course there are some substantial climbs most days. In the Gargrave area you could walk north to Malham and catch buses back via Skipton. You could walk south to Earby and also catch buses back via Skipton.
Hi Tony, We are full time aboard continuously cruising the network. Winter can be a lovely time to cruise and the boat stays toasty warm with the solid fuel stove
Merry Christmas you two hope your keeping warm and dry love John and Maggie xx
Oh, look, who's doing all the legwork at the locks while David Bailey does all the camera work.
Have a great Christmas and an even better New Year.
Very rare,e not doing the legwork Dave!!
