Reminder that scoville heat units is a measure of concentration/dilution. Adding a tablespoon of 9M SHU pepper paste to a cup of vinegar will dilute the SHU by a lot.

Reminder that scoville isnt a measure of concentration/dilution, but a subjective scale of felt heat. As capsaicin is fat soluble, 100k sauce with no fats doesnt feel as hot as 70k sauce with a lot of fats. But yeah, diluting 9m sauce with vinegar will drop down the felt heat unless you consume all of it.
Without a full lab test, there is no way to measure the Scovilles exactly, all I know is that I would never try to eat that, not for just a knife anyway.

Like, your ... everything will be burning, it will be painful, but you can still clearly discern the taste. Source: ate a ~2 mil. SHU burger. The burger was tasty, but unnecessarily spicy. 6/10, would not cry needlessly again.

@@MrWerd.That's how i've survived every chili challenge i've done. Just getting it done as soon as physically possible, so i only have to suffer badly once. It's much harder to go back to an extreme heat after coming off a big wave of heat.
When eating actual chilies it's a better strategy to chew really well because large chunks are guaranteed to cause much worse stomach cramps.

I know worse buy pepper x ,dragons breath,scorpion pepper each of which is over 2 million scoville add those on top of Carolina reaper and ghost pepper and put flakes of each in the pickles,burger,sauce even in the bun and that's my worst

the way it goes from 300-500 Scoville for the bun and it just jumps to 6 mil for the sauce.
Except it doesn't because it's diluting the 9mil in the rest of the ingredients

Had a good feeling Stevie was going to win at the stater of the burger, dude was taking huge bites the whole way through. He knew the most eaten would be the winner, started with the big bites right out of the gate.
Yeah, he had the winning strategy. When Josh read the rules, I figured that whoever could take the biggest bites would win, he outsmarted the competition.
And based on my experience(is there a factual study about this or no lol), having your mouth full can dampen spicyness or maybe its just my ADHD being distracted by me chewing large quantities of food in my mouth.
It works for me though.

That misshap with the burger patty and sauce. Ugh. I've done something very similar before, and I know just how bad it can be. I wanted to make concentrated soup stock so that I could meal prep hot soup for a few days. I loaded it with hot peppers and powders and hot sauce, then let it reduce whilst I went a couple of rooms away and played a few games of cod. I came back to a kitchen full of vapors that genuinely felt like I was snorting broken glass with each breath. I managed to kill the heat before running away and opening every window in the house.

If Stevie really didn’t like spicy food before this, he is an absolutely beast to me! I had hot sauce with about 1 million Scoville before and lemme tell you, my mouth and nether regions are still recovering from it. Stevie is a legend.
I think it boils down to the reason why you're eating. To try it out? Yeah, it burns like hell. To show you can do it? It still burns like hell but you can power through. To win something? It still burns like hell but you won't notice until it's all over.
I remember my cousin trying to scare me with a Habanero sauce when I was little, and me just eating it like it was nothing. Not because it didn't hurt, but because I'm too much of a piece of crap to let anyone tell me I can't do something.

This is one of those challenges that I find inspiring on multiple levels. I'm gonna definitely make some habanero glazed bacon, loosely based on Josh's recipe, in honor of these heroes. It's the mental game that makes me wanna chase more spice, and the art of food that just makes me wanna cook! I'm not making cheese though. 😏 That's more effort than it's worth.

Not gonna lie, spiciness aside, that burger looks really tasty. Although if you want to do another one of these, I just thought of a potential super spicy pizza recipe: the “Now That’s a Spicy Meatball” pizza (apologies to anyone who might be offended by that name). The main topping would be meatballs with diced chilies mixed in (dealer’s choice, but I’d personally try habaneros since ghost or higher would probably be hard to find for me) and coated in extra spicy hot sauce. Then the other toppings would be pepperoni and jalapeño slices, and you can spice up the other pizza elements however much you’d like. Let me know what you think.
