In this video, we're going to be talking about the many different types of book trailers out there, and then I'm doing a tutorial on how to make a book trailer using stock video footage. There are only five steps to make a book trailer, so let's jump right into it!

Simple animated book trailers probably would give the best effect, but would require tapping into that skill in either 2D animation or blender.

I just watched the Meet Me At The Summit trailer and it’s lovely, especially the end! I need to up my game. I just did one but I relied too much on animating still images.
Happy to see this video. I have made several trailers for a collaboration anthology that I and 8 other writers contributed to. (posted on my account's youtube channel here) They were fun but I had very little experience doing them. Still came out pretty good I think. Thanks for the tips and advice!

Legally you can’t publish a book you don’t own the rights to unless it’s public domain or you have permission from the author
Do you ever, or do you suggest making more than one trailer for a given book? I tried a few different ones with different techniques / moods / themes to kind of test against each other or rotate through when promoting the book so that every promotion is not exactly the same. Not sure if that helped or hurt getting the attention of interested readers.
I have two trailers for I am Mercy, but that's only because the second one was created by a professional. I think there's nothing wrong with having more than one trailer through if you have the time an resources! I usually do one main trailer, and then sometimes use clips of the trailer to repurpose for TikTok/Instagram reels.
I’m trying to think of more “long form” content to market my books. I don’t know what besides multiple trailers to do!
