This great musical man is the reason I started playing guitar and bass about fifty or so years ago. .. still play some.... long story short. ... bass line in the lemon song. ..... thanks Johnny boy..... ramble on.....all way find my way to the same old jam...... no pun intended. .... thank john..
@dannymiles6503 His '62 Jazz Bass that he bought secondhand for £250 in '65, fully restored. Iconic instrument, one that sold tens of millions of records.
@@jomamma1750 Wow!! Thankyou for that. Im gonna be honest with you, i used to play guitars, 6 string and know a fair bit on those, but not much on bass. I thought it was a Fender Precision, so i guess theyre iconic too as so many bands through 60s, 70s, 80s had bassists who had them. Thanks, ive known about the Jazz model for decades, but not expert enough to note the difference straight away Id rather be honest than pretending.
@@jomamma1750 I now realise the 1 knob each volume/tone is the Precision feature. For players, the neck girth differs for easier playing too. No doubt features you are aware of. I always was amazed that Donald Fagan had 5 of his favourite bassists play on his excellent The Nightfly album.
I bought the Jobriath Lps, the Roy Harper stuff he was on & anything else I could find (even though I was going town to town in a VW Camper Bus that held about 100 lps under the seat behind the Driver's. I didn't have a turntable but I think I could accommodate that at any campsite type situ'. He's the sweetest Man in Rock- not a wild child playin' Devil's 🎼 & I know that JPJ, Jack Casady, Phil Lesh, Peter Sears & Bill Wyman ALL own Alembic Basses & are still as active as each WANTS to be. Hmm?🤔
Suppose I’m dating myself. But, my brother taught me years back, to turn the stereo channels (or whatever they were called) to hear/listen to harmonies, rhythms, etc., such an ear opener! You could hear so much & everything. Really. I miss this option or availability. One could really hear backing voices, rhythm tracks, background sounds. I could isolate some vocals. Not anymore.
Outstanding musicianship always,a truly stellar Renaissance player, arranger and overall talent.Quintessentially British proper.
The most perfect, beautiful bass line ever composed/played. IMHO, anyway. Love his sense of humor. Thanks for posting.
Such a Gentleman! ...and, a POWERHOUSE BASSIST!!
So grateful for this mans influence in my life!
Where is this?
The ace in the hole for Zep

I've never seen him speak in an interview that I didn't think, "That guy is a truly nice person on top of being an extraordinary musician."
Heck!! Its not till i heard it this way that i truly learn how complex the bass is in the song.

Why is it so hard for some people to hold a camera with the subject in the middle of the camera frame.
NO RESPECT from he silly young girl calling out.
Isolated bass only please!
Как- то слабовато играет
Как ты его научил, так он и играет
