In the Jos Butler mankading incident, Ravi Ashwin, the captain of his team, were needing a wicket desperately and so he decided to run into bowl stop and WAIT until Jos’ bat had left the crease (which would have happened at the same time as ashwin had delivered the bowl) and then mankad him. Anyone who defends these disgraceful acts of intolerable sportsmanship should be made to watch the youth in local cricket games practicing the mankad, as the run out batsman (who only doing what they are taught to in backing up) at the non strikers end. I hope that Ashwin is mankaded every time he walks out to bat, but I know no one else in world cricket would stoop that low. Anyone can pretend to bowl a bowl but then stop and wait for the batsman to leave the crease before mankading them. I hope Tim Paine is right and that none of Ravi’s teammates in the Indian Test Team like him, because not many people outside of India do.

I remember how everyone was hurling abuses at Ashwin during this time and he stood his ground on the matter. Now it's become normal practice, barring few teams, but that goes to show that being correct is more valuable than being likeable. Batsmen now have to double think when leaving the crease. That's a victory for every bowler, whether they say they agree or not.

And when it's within the rules of ICC, there should be no other question. Why should batsmen get advantage of covering some length of the pitch before the ball has even left the bowlers hand.
The distance batsman is out from the crease is the distance which might save him from close runouts. Mankading is totally justified until no-ball exists.

As an Umpire myself I do not even know why there was even such a long discussion. The batsman is clearly out and it was good of the bowler to warn him beforehand but he did not have to do it.

Very disappointed in that one, She did not warn either the batsman or the umpire that she was concerned about the batsman backing up. The batsman was about an inch out of her crease. She was concerned that there was a batter well set needing only 19 runs from 37 balls and only 3 from her half century. She does not have to give a warning so it is out but not in the spirit of the game in my view. A poor way to win.

Secondly, Deepti Sharma might not have warned Umpire or Charlotte Dean. But her teammates did that including her captain on many occasions. It the 13th time that Charlotte Dean was out of crease by atleast a foot before Deepti Sharma dislodged the bails. Watch the match. Don't comment. Mankad would have been ok if a white player had done it. But not in the spirit as an Indian did it. As an umpire did you lodge your concern to ICC to remove Mankad Run Outs as legal run outs from their rule book. If ICC considers them to be legal where is the spirit? If it is unethical it should not be a law. As I said, spirit lies in the race of the player for most racists. You are one of them. Again you are not fit to be an umpire.

However if a batsman walks out of the crease on accident and you get him out, it just would be unfair as a person can forget to stay in the crease in the heat of the moment and for such a small mistake he wouldn't be allowed to play in the game anymore. That's why batsmen should be given 2 warnings before being given out.

Anyone who says Ashwin is technically not allowed to do that, according to the rules, is incorrect. What is up for debate is the spirit of the game. If a batsman has been warned already by the fielding team, that they will be run out at the non strikers end for backing up aggressively, then there is no issue with the run out.
It hasn't been suggested by anyone that England did anything against the spirit of the game in the World Cup final, they simply got lucky, as happens sometimes in cricket

@Sanyam Kumar yes even bowler have technical limitations no one allow bowler to ball with bend arm but batsman can bat technical , braut, monsters with one hand they can design their own bat as their weight comfort but bowler have to bowl with same ball . Batsman can change their bat if they want to change .but bowlers don't . this so earatating ....
