Understanding that the milling process is different on high end and low end fabric. Also how to test if Cambridge is 100% cotton or if it’s a polyester blend. I never thought about fabric catchers. My first quilt was from mask material that was pre-washed, cut to 9” x 7” from a quilter who donated fabric so I could make masks fit my community.

Wendy, I really enjoy your very informative videos on quilting. I have been sewing and crocheting since I was 6 years old.
Never, have I even attempted making a quilt. However, I really want to!😉
I have collected 4 different jelly rolls, mixture of fat quarters, several rotary blades, various rulers, 2 cotton hospital blankets for batting and I think that I might be ready now. ......I'm excited and terrified at the same time, if that makes any sense.
Which pattern would you suggest that I begin with?

You've got this!!!! I'm so excited for you. ❤️
I would start with something small like a baby quilt. My first quilt after HS was a log cabin. I always consider that a good starting quilt. I have a couple log cabin quilt videos, on requires a special ruler, and the other uses a Jelly roll. Enjoy!!!

@@WendyJHaney thank you for your encouraging words. I TOOK THE PLUNGE!
Blue jeans and half of a jelly roll. Finished size measures 78"×66"
Cutting out the 6.5" squares was the most time consuming part of it. I opted out on binding the edges and chose to surge the finished edges instead. Wendy, the quilt from the first cut to the very last stitch......only took me 3 days. Approximately 16 hours.
I wish that I knew how to show you my finished quilt. 💙
