It's very much an underdog show so it wouldn't get anywhere in votes, but a show that has some similar vibes to this, The 100, Lost, and maybe Attack on Titan season 1 is the Apple show "Silo". It's quite a bit more serious than Fallout but it is very good too, and an absolute must have if you're into post apocalyptic societies, with lots of mysteries to theorize about each episode and a strong main character. The only issue is that barely anyone knows about it because it is on Apple's streaming service. :/
@@DaDunge Every Brotherhood sect is slightly different. The BOS from FO1 isn't FO2 which isn't either Lyon's or the more traditional BOS from 3 or New Vegas, who in turn aren't the BOS from FO4 (despite being directly linked to Lyon's faction). And we won't even get into the mess from FO: BOS or Fallout Tactics. If anything, the BOS after more than a decade under Arthur Maxson being different is one of the most game accurate things in the show. (Even if the pseudo-religious angles are a little more Warhammer 40k than FO.)
Yassssssssss THIS SHOW IS SOOO GOOOD Some tips: Lucy used a syringe called a stimpak to heal, its what we would use in game to heal and if i remember from knowledge it can grow your limbs back as well Lucy grabbed a syringer, its a type of gun that shoots syringes filled with whatever you wanna fill them with. Oh and "cousin stuff" is exactly what youre thinking of. Being in a vault for 200 years its not too crazy, everyone eventually becomes family so thats why they do a trade with a vault that theyre connected to.
I have to critique you slightly here: The way you wrote that implies Todd Howard was the creative mind behind the unique concept/setting/storyboarding of the Fallout Universe. Which is obviously not true. Todd just bought the IP after the 2nd game and funded/directed more sequels. Yes he and his team added stuff like mechanics to make it an FPS. But much of the OG ideas and aesthetic which have come to define Fallout come from Tim Cain and I want to make sure he gets the credit he deserves. Tim has a CZcams channel where he talks about the development of the original Fallout down to even where he got the idea for things like Sugar Bombs and Vertibirds.
My dream is that if they ever rake enough dolo together to pursue a "Bioshock" adaption, she'll appear in that as well.. girl basically looks 1:1 with certain characters.
Watching the interview with her after the Fallout show was fantastic. She gives the source material respect and studies it. Which is rare with the ego-driven Hollywood norm. Usually, they come in and think, "I can do better", yet rarely ever do.
Ella Purnell's American access is absolutely flawless. This was my introduction to her, so I had no idea she was British until I saw her in an interview.
Commented this on other Fallout channels but think about this --- the US up to the 1980s had about 30,000 nuclear weapons. Russia something equivalent. All aimed at each other. To be effective during preemptive strike, that means they'd have to launch as many as it took to knock the other guy out or hinder retaliation. This is mutual.
So glad you picked this show. Not knowing the game it came out of nowhere for me. Great cast with Ella completely owning it. This show is pure fun and visually stunning. Enjoy! 😀👍

Some non spoilery game background info to help navigate the show a little better: As someone mentioned already, the intro starts in the year 2077. But it is an alternate universe timeline where they did not develop the transistor when we did, which caused a technological split from us where the whole miniaturization did not happen as they kept relying on things like vacuum tubes instead. That's where the whole 50s era vibes come from. Despite that, they made lots more technological progress in other fields, compared to us. For example nuclear energy. Pretty much everything is powered by tiny nuclear reactors, such as the cars, or the robot you saw a glimpse of in the intro - robotics being another field where they made massive progress - or the power armors that the Brotherhood still use. In this universe they were basically at war with communist China for a long time, which then eventually threw the bombs. It's also not just a game, but several of them, with 5 main games and a couple other titles in the same universe. The show plays after all the other main games, regarding the timeline. 4:32 Pip-boys. They're little computers, like a PDA or a simpler smartphone I guess. In the games, they're providing your menus for inventory and stuff. 8:27 No eating manners, tattoos, scars, the wipe, fascination with running water, drinking out of a water pitcher... They were all hints that those are not people from vault 32. Just a heads up here, because the show is more show don't tell type of stuff and they won't be this obvious with the little visual cues they drop throughout the episodes. 9:51 It's a stimpak, one of the game's main healing items. 14:12 No, they're former military combat exoskeleton suits. The Brotherhood of Steel is made up of the remnants of the former US military and are a fascist military dictatorship with a templar knight shtick. They're one of the factions you can join in the games but also one of the most dangerous ones, as they pretty much gobble up all the pre-war technology they can find for themselves. 25:05 "Us cowpokes, we take it as it comes." Final context clue that this is Cooper, as he said the same thing to his daughter. As I said, pay good attention for the small details, because this one was also very obvious. 28:40 The Enclave are the remnants of the former US government. They're typically at war with the Brotherhood. They're kinda mysterious and in the background so that's where I'm leaving it at. I want to correct you though, that they are not out there to assassinate, but to find the target.

Everyone brings up Arcane for Ella Purnell, but she also voices one of the main characters in Star Trek Prodigy, which is a great show. For timeline, the flashback was October 23, 2077. It's a retro-future timeline based largely on nuclear power. And you know when the show's "present time" takes place.
You may know the blind woman from Deadpool as one of the vault dwellers, Cecil from invincible as the Ghoul, Lucy’s dad is from Twin Peaks, Muldaver from The Kama Sutra and from Mississippi Masala, there’s a cool guy from Severance and so many more great actors in this show
heheh part of the eye thing is, in the first two games especially, aimed eye-shots were almost a guaranteed critical, so it was an easy way to get massive damage on people, and if it didn't kill it had a good chance of blinding
Great reaction. Lucys marriage application is essentially her skills that you have in the game. The series uses game logic so many "unrealistic" things happen, like the stim-pack Lucy injects to heal herself. Why does Moldaver take her dad and know Lucys mom, well can't really answer that because, spoilers for series. Each vault has it's own outer door, as long as Lucy has her Pip-boy (the wrist thingy) she can open the vault door. The power armor is well done and it is a practical effect, they actually made them. Maximus giant bag is a nod to the enormous inventory you have in game, that you usually give to your companion. The ghoul was not in the ground for 200 years, just the last few years, recall the guy who dug him up said his father worked with the Ghoul. The Enclave is another game faction made up of the remains of the shadow government, typically an antagonist in the games.
The reason the raiders were able to appear in vault 32 is because the original inhabitants were forced to open up their vault to the surface. Remember they suffered famine which means all their crops died, so the only way to find food is to open the vault doors to the surface and roll your dice.
They never got out. They became overpopulated for their resources in one of the typical Vault-Tec experiments, and vault 33 was apparently the control group where everything was optimized. Some found out that there was something shady going on, conducted by the overseer. The crops failed, probably on purpose to finalize the experiment. A revolt broke out (we see the overseer tied up and murdered, and the staff hanged). Many inhabitants killed each other, split into groups, because there was no escape and many went crazy and desperate. Cannibalism probably happened (leg cut off the first corpse we see). The survivors starved, dehydrated or committed suicide. The vault was later opened from the outside by Moldaver, and we later in the show learn how she did that.
Fallout is all about retro-futurism (maybe atompunk?). The day of that birthday party was October 23, 2077 (I've been a Fallout fan since 1997, but I mostly remember the date of the bombs dropping because it's the month and day my husband was born). Also, as a longtime Fallout fan, just so you have that perspective, I loved this show. The characters/story line/location were all new, so it's just adding to the entire Fallout lore, and I love it. Thanks for the reaction.
Aside from the fact that at this point NOTHING would be fast enough, a horse is a much better choice. Goes off road, doesn't get stuck in a traffic and is immune to EMP effect.
Wait, how did I miss this!? You guys started this series? Can't wait to watch! This and Shogun were my two favorite series these last few months. But moreso cause I'm a fan of the fallout games. Can't wait to see what yall think especially if you guys don't play the game. Also, looking forward to SHogun if you guys are still planning to watch that series
The show doesn't go into any detail on this, but the Fallout universe diverges from ours sometime after World War II. In the Fallout universe, the transistor is never invented, thus electronics are never miniaturized, the world goes all-in on nuclear power for everything, and culture stagnates around the 50's.
omg i literally commented on the Dune video for Fallout after Dune part 2 and didnt even see this one. Ahaha, you two officially hit my 4 most watched reaction searches. I love this!
@@MeeshDeeReacts fun fact when the ghoul says “I do this for the love the game.” it’s a reference to the game, even though you beat the game you’ll still play it over and over or continue from your save.
@@MeeshDeeReacts forgot to mention, this show isn’t based on a specific fallout game. Every game is a separate story with the player. And they all take place in different times within the same “universe” lol
The Fallout universe is an alternate timeline in which major breakthroughs in nuclear energy became HUGE in the 50sish, and everything developed forward based on that, so there's lots of mix of futuristic tech and 50s style.
always great to see more people get introduced to the Fallout universe. big fan of the games, and the show absolutely nailed it as an adaptation. the games themselves are often separated by hundreds of miles and tens of years. one game will have you explore the ruins of LA and most of southern California 84 years after the Great War, another will be in the ruins of Boston 210 years after the bombs. the best game centers on Las Vegas, still open for business with luxury hotels, casinos, and fine dining 205 years after The War and is about a civilization of Roman cosplayers from Arizona fighting over the Hoover damn against Californians trying to Manifest Destiny in the opposite direction while your character is a mail man who gets shot in the face.
I really loved this show, I’ve tried to play some of the Fallout games before but just couldn’t get into them, so when this show came out it gave me a way to experience the world of Fallout in a new and fun way. Excited for more! 🔥
You're gonna love this show. I'd never played the game until after I watched the show and it's just like the game. Amazing story and HUGE twist! And yes, the ghoul is the cowboy from the beginning!
A few suggestions: the guys running this show are the same ones behind Westworld. From there you can guess how convoluted this plot will be. My suggestion is that you don't get too hung up on your theories. Watch all, try to fit what you have, but be aware that you won't have most of the relevant data for a long, long time. Also, if you are hunting for Ella Purnell material, you might want to give Star Trek: Prodigy a go. She voices one of the main characters there, and that show is very, very good.
Let’s go girls, you are 1.6K assay from tying Run to the Movies 34.7K Subscribers. Run to the Movies has 5 people crew reacting to movies and TV Series. Five women and one Producer the boss himself Max. They have been around for over two years you ladies have been doing this for only a year and there’s only 2 of you amazing. I am rooting for you girls to surpass them.
So, Since we have someone here with a medical background. something that justifies alot of what you see in the show. And is revealed in the games through multiple sources, is that the humans in the Vaults are essentially pure humans (for the most part, no spoilers) but for 100s of years, those who survived on the surface under went changes, there isnt really any non mutated humans, even the most normal ones have developed a stronger resistance to radiation (but not by much, enough though) their bones are stronger, even their skin is tougher than those from the vaults. So your gonna see something that will make you be like "that should kill him" but its ok. . .its lore friendly lol
So cool thing about this series is that unlike other game to move/tv show adaptations, it isn't trying to redo an existing story or cover existing characters and changing them. It isn't "let's take the plot of this game and make a show out of it" or trying to force in cameos of beloved characters from the games like a Marvel production. Nope, this is a unique story that is standalone from the other entries in the franchise, taking place in the same world as the games and working by the games' rules, but doing their own story with their own characters. Sure, there are factions from the games that appear (the Vaults, the Brotherhood of Steel, raiders, the mention of the Enclave, etc) but none of the characters came from the games. It gave them the freedom to write their own story in the great big sandbox playground that is the Fallout world. Every game is a standalone adventure (with the exception perhaps of Fallout 2 where we play our Fallout 1 character's grandchild) and our player character never takes the center stage in more than one game if they're mentioned at all in any of the others. The Fallout show is just another story in the Fallout universe and that's why it works so well. It very well could be a game, they just opted to make it a show instead.
Amazing! Watching this show is on par with playing the games, just such a good setting and story progression Especially as someone who LOVES 40's-50's music, I mean it's just so charming to listen to
The initial Nuclear attack occurred on the U.S. East Coast (Pennsylvania and New York) at about 9:42 AM EST, Saturday, Oct 23rd 2077 from Submarine launched missiles. Then the West Coast soon after. Then Washington, DC at 9:47 AM.The attack continued for 2 hours according to Game lore. However as there is a 3 hour time difference between the East Coast and the West Coast, then the L.A. bombing had to occur around 6:43 AM or thereabouts. The TV show doesn't seem to reflect that early morning West Coast time. Perhaps the TV show has a famous Bethesda bug?
it’s probably more of a retcon then a unintentional error, they didn’t want the opening scene to take place at night. You’re one of the few to notice this change.
Just FYI, that opening scene is set in about the 2050s so there is advanced technology like robot butlers, but the history of the world is slightly different from ours so that the culture and clothes and car designs and stuff were basically stuck in the 1950s
Newcomer to your channel. This was a fun reaction. Keep in mind that this is all from a computer game, as the creators did. So there are game things like the Stimpak that instantly heals Lucy's "hit points". Also, part of the original world concept for Fallout is that is based on the future as it was imagined by people at the height of the nuclear scare. So you have atomic cars and personal home robots and medical miracles, but still the same fashion and music and clunky electronic devices. Cheers!
Okay, since you're not familiar with the games, I'll simply note that this alternate timeline has retro-futuristic atom-punk *mad science* , not the science that matches our reality. For instance, as you well know, any high dose of radiation that doesn't kill you immediately puts you at a huge risk of developing cancer -- it *doesn't* turn you into an immortal radioactive mutant. However, the games are open-world CRPGs, and in computer games dying of cancer is boring, but immortal bad-ass mutants are *not* . 😁
Westworld appears to have copied a specific scene from Fallout 4 that is much later in the game. I don't want spoil either one. But those who've played FO4 and watched Westworld will likely know what I'm talking about. (none of it appears in the 1st season of Fallout BTW). In addition, the 1973 movie, "Westworld" is well worth checking out.
7:30 actually no. Even with the mass usage of tactical nukes as they are depicted at the birthday party at the start of the episode and even if they were dirty bombs with more intense radiation which they immediately would be if they detonated at ground level, 219 years is far and above the amount of time needed for dangerous levels of radiation to dissipate. There’s a huge drop in the first 24 hours, and after 40 days it would’ve been ok to venture out for supplies. In 10 - 20 years it would have been been safe enough to spend significant amounts of time above ground, maybe even permanently. People started living in Hiroshima again 6 years after it was nuked. At least as far as background atmospheric radiation is concerned, as for the other post hazards of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, well you take your chances and depends how resourceful you are. Much long-life food and water sources from the time of the war would likely still be radioactive.

If you like Ella, you should DEFINITELY watch Yellowjackets.
I second this 🙌
Thank you for the rec!! 😊🙏🏼
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing this with us and how much this show means to you ☺️ we appreciate you for watching along too 🙏🏼💘
“Futuristic. Knight. Cult.” Bingo!
Aside from the fact that at this point NOTHING would be fast enough, a horse is a much better choice. Goes off road, doesn't get stuck in a traffic and is immune to EMP effect.
YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!! so glad my favorite duo is reacting to this!!!
The sandwish edit..lol..
We're hyped for this series! Thanks for watching with us :)
Whoever edited this is G.O.A.T! ;) Must've passed with flying colors
You've got a surprise coming up then too :)
Let’s go!! We love to hear this 🤩💕
I subscribed because of this show! you ladies will love it i promise!
Yesss!! 🎉 y’all are watching this show, as a fallout gamer since 2008 this show did not disappoint
Lfg!! We’re so excited to start this series with yall!
@@MeeshDeeReacts fun fact when the ghoul says “I do this for the love the game.” it’s a reference to the game, even though you beat the game you’ll still play it over and over or continue from your save.
So cool!!
@@MeeshDeeReacts forgot to mention, this show isn’t based on a specific fallout game. Every game is a separate story with the player. And they all take place in different times within the same “universe” lol
OMG I’m so happy ya’ll are reacting to this. As a fan of the games I had my doubts, but this is a great video game adaptation. :)
🫶🏼😊
The split reuben sandwich for a face lol.
Dang you girls are after my heart here, just banger after banger!!! I might have to join your patreon tonight!
Hahah no pressure or anything!! You're so awesome for supporting all the shows we watch :) we appreciate you just following the journey! 💘🤗
That's cool Meesh I'm also an Imaging tech. I'm a cardiac sonographer :)
WHAT! So cool @TheJerbol ! Fellow imaging tech let’s go 🏥👏🏻🫶🏼🤩
@@MeeshDeeReacts are you an xray tech then? doing angriographies? we a team
@@TheJerbolYes exactly! I’m a fluoroscopy tech 😁 mainly doing spinal procedures.
The Fallout universe is an alternate timeline in which major breakthroughs in nuclear energy became HUGE in the 50sish, and everything developed forward based on that, so there's lots of mix of futuristic tech and 50s style.
Holy - that IS Rico! I never noticed that, god damn.
I gueess it has been 13 years but now that I know it's so obvious lmao
Lmaoo we were shook!! Hannah Montana 😂
Great reaction to one of the best TV series. Looking forward to checking out the rest of your reactions.
Lets goooo IMO this arcane and the last of us are 3 best PC game adaptations in recent years,
editing on point with the GoT 6:23 :D I did Not expect y'all to react to this but heyyy between this and vox machina september's gonna be good!
I clicked on this so fast!!! Yesssss 🎉❤ all the Ella! You should check her out in yellow jackets too
Let’s goo!! Thanks for watching along and supporting us 🤩🫶🏼
Awesome!!! cant wait for more of the reactions, whats the schedule for this show???
Damn girl on our right was so tense the whole time. You gotta embrace the crazy with this show.
LMAO I was tense the whole time 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

"Her moaning sounds like Jinx" Okey dokeyyy it is jinx's VA
always great to see more people get introduced to the Fallout universe.
big fan of the games, and the show absolutely nailed it as an adaptation. the games themselves are often separated by hundreds of miles and tens of years. one game will have you explore the ruins of LA and most of southern California 84 years after the Great War, another will be in the ruins of Boston 210 years after the bombs. the best game centers on Las Vegas, still open for business with luxury hotels, casinos, and fine dining 205 years after The War and is about a civilization of Roman cosplayers from Arizona fighting over the Hoover damn against Californians trying to Manifest Destiny in the opposite direction while your character is a mail man who gets shot in the face.
Ella is actually from Whitechapel in London former home of Jack the Ripper despite her American accent in the show.
"She's so cute, too." You are NOT wrong.
🤭🤭
So your gonna see something that will make you be like "that should kill him" but its ok. . .its lore friendly lol
this is my 2nd favorite show behind Strange New Worlds.
YAY this show is so good super happy you guys are checking it out
Amazing! Watching this show is on par with playing the games, just such a good setting and story progression
Especially as someone who LOVES 40's-50's music, I mean it's just so charming to listen to
Enjoy the ride with this one! It's a great, faithful adaptation and they will eventually answer your questions.
YESSS!! I love you guys and this show is great! Can't wait to see your reaction and what you think!
Let’s gooo!!! 🤩🫶🏼🙏🏼
9:32 - The contrast between your reactions to this was great
Dee gets bloodthirsty sometimes
lol!! Sorry I get too into the scene sometimes. I needa chillleee 😂😂

@@MeeshDeeReacts Nah, never change
Also the guy very much deserved given the circumstances XD
It's retro futuristic.
If you can’t handle the brine, don’t do the crime.
You should watch the intro cinematic for Fallout 4. It gives a really good run-down of the world and what's going on with the bombs and such.
This show got me playing FO3 and NV.
Oh man! I'm pumped. This is going to be a great weekend watch for me. I already know it!
LFGGG
Dane uses they/them btw ❤
Thank you!! 🥰🙏🏼🫶🏼
Love your reaction! BTW, you should watch the closing credits of every episode . . .
Thanks for watching along!! We watch the end credits off camera now :)
Just FYI, that opening scene is set in about the 2050s so there is advanced technology like robot butlers, but the history of the world is slightly different from ours so that the culture and clothes and car designs and stuff were basically stuck in the 1950s
Its in 2077
2070s, but yeah
Newcomer to your channel. This was a fun reaction.
Keep in mind that this is all from a computer game, as the creators did. So there are game things like the Stimpak that instantly heals Lucy's "hit points".
Also, part of the original world concept for Fallout is that is based on the future as it was imagined by people at the height of the nuclear scare. So you have atomic cars and personal home robots and medical miracles, but still the same fashion and music and clunky electronic devices.
Cheers!
This is amazing background and insight!! Thanks for this and for watching along. Cheers 🍻💘
you can definitely see the ‘Westworld’ spiritual successor in this show 🤠🤖 so good
Ugh we LOVE WestWorld!! So sad it got canceled :(
@@MeeshDeeReacts me too 😭😭 don’t care what anyone says, best show period
we can pray for a 5th season or movie to finish it one day 🙇♂️
Season 4 was SO good 😭😭 we feel you so much **sigh** it’s ok at least we can watch this series together now ☺️
Westworld appears to have copied a specific scene from Fallout 4 that is much later in the game. I don't want spoil either one. But those who've played FO4 and watched Westworld will likely know what I'm talking about. (none of it appears in the 1st season of Fallout BTW). In addition, the 1973 movie, "Westworld" is well worth checking out.
This show is hilarious 🤣 😂(just ignore all the bloody gore)
Lucy is the voice of Jinx.
I love Lucy introduction because it’s like the game giving you the stats for the character so good! Best game to tv adaption so far
What's sad is that some people still have the nerve to call her a Mary Sue
@@daurydavis3983 right?!
Flesh wound wide open and inside a barrel of sour pickle juice. That guy's last minutes must've been agony 😂
3:45 im gonna be back at this after the ending of all reactions imo
Fan of the games and this is a great adaptation.
You guys needs to watch YELLOW JACKET
Never played the games. I'm obsessed. I love Lucy!❤
Here we go!
