You did it! You guys captured that church choir sound that Brian blended into all the Beach Boy's songs. It was a mixture of 50's Doo Wop and black R&B if it were sung by a Sunday choral group. Superb job!

His voice was rarely used as lead in Beach Boy songs -- don't know why. There are explanations of why Brian let him sing lead on God Only Knows, and for whatever reason, Carl nailed that one, too!
Lads as a pro musician of over 30 years I don't give praise lightly. This has got to be by far and away the best cover of this song I've ever heard. I watched Matt Jardine sing this song four weeks ago on the Brian Wilson tour and it was good but not this good! Well done lads excellent cove.

I’m 68, so have been listening to BB since the early 60s. The extended version of I CAN HEAR MUSIC (1969) is the greatest of the BB recordings.
Recently read something never knew before. That Carl was married to one of Dean Martin's daughters. She was by his bedside when he passed away. RIP. Saw the BB in concert in the early 1970s.

I did see the Beach Boys in concert in MSG, think in the 80s, but had two replacement members at the time.

Actually from 1966 on Carl sang most of the new material, he was a superior singer to anyone in the group with the exception of Brian up to 1968.
