I don't know what kind of silly excuse for a bandage that is over his ear, but coming from a nurse who works with surgeons post-operatively, I've never seen anything like that. It isn't doing the job of what you'd expect a bandage to do, at all, which is to protect a healing incision or a healing wound. That, looks strange as ffffuk.
