So how does the lunk alarm works, not clearly explained, is it set off by a person? Automatically based on noise decibels? Annoyed Gym user activating the alarm to alert the manager? Please Enlightened.. thank ypu
Whenever it detects a weight more than 2 pounds being lifted the alarm goes off.
It’s a button press. And they never use it. But the manager at my planet fitness is cool so he never uses it. Actually doesn’t even have the button hooked up.

I seriously thought it was a guy screaming after squatting heavy because it always happened when he was there. Then i switched locations and i heard again. Still sounded like the same guy. Then yesterday i learned its an actual alarm at PF.
And now i know what its all about. Crazyness
Why would you go to this place, then? Who would want to be interrupted because of grunting or dropping weights, two things that are pretty much part in parcel with weightlifting?

I know what causes a lunk alarm, DROPPING A FUCKING PEN.
It doesn’t draw “unwanted” attention. The attention is very much wanted.
This sounds like a relaxing gym for people that don’t want to work out but rather be at the snack bar.
You can’t even do deadlift or overhead presses💀
No wonder there motto or what ever you call it makes sense, “*We are not a gym*, We are Planet Fitness”
Wow. A place for all the fragile snow flakes. If anybody there worked out they would melt, no wonder they have that alarm that saves lives! How is this place still in business?

I just read the rules and I must admit I have broken a few. I have done overhead presses and was not aware they were not allowed. I also brought my own stretch band and hand weights which I guess isn't allowed. But glad they have pizza.

@@HandlesAreAShitIdea I don't imagine they are true. I have seen people work out the same as in other gyms. The big difference to me is that PF doesn't seem to allow you to wonder off with weights (like use hand weights while on treadmill sort of thing)

Ok, thank you thank you ma’am! I had heard other opinion, or other expression as to what this lunk alarm thing means? I made partial inappropriate comment to earlier depiction of the lunk alarm, and its use. So quite simply exactly like it reads no grunting etc. Period understood and I thank you for not embellishing so much as some of the rather animated individuals have done whom are associated as employee of planet fitness. A very silly man added too much of his drama and cartoon likeBehavior which made me very upset at the description of what his take on the lunk alarm was? Why is this not standard lysed in the way that it would be presented online so as not to create frustration for those who use planet fitness for their fitness goals?
I make apologetic attempt here even though the gentleman who presented the information about what the lung alarm is who is associated as employee of planet fitness. Well you get my inference here, he did not express exactly what is on the sign but rather became very animated I guess to do something like become something I don’t know show off or something? No critics I understand but let’s keep it professional if that’s what you’re wanting in your gyms Planet Fitness. And once more, Thank you ma’am for being professional in your presentation of what the lunk alarm means! Thank you ma’am! I love planet fitness, And I also go on the Dover Air Force Base gym. No alarms there… I am a veteran retired PTSD TBI and dissociation. I don’t necessarily need alarms going off around me. I do greatly appreciate its explanation professionalism in describing is “key”
