  • This is the long version (36 minutes) of the popular Calm - Ease meditation guided by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and available on the FREE Plum Village App link.plumvillage.app/Kpt6 along with the other audio versions.
    Nothing is more precious than being in the present moment, fully alive and aware. If you use this poem during sitting or walking meditation, it can be very nourishing and healing. Practice each line for as long as you wish.
    "Breathing in, I know I am breathing in. Breathing out, I know I am breathing out. In - out.
    "Breathing in, I calm my body and my mind. Breathing out, I ease everything. Calm - ease.
    "Breathing in, I smile. Breathing out, I release all my worries and anxieties. Smile - release.
    "Breathing in, I establish myself in the present moment. Breathing out, I know this is a wonderful moment.
    "Present moment - wonderful moment.
    "In - out; deep - slow, calm - ease, smile - release, present moment - wonderful moment."

    Ofcourse two years ago Thay passed away. I felt bereft if His wonderful living presence. He is certainly a saint for he remains a presence in my life. Thank you Plum Village for making this available

    One thing I have learned as I got older, is “peace” is about the closest thing I have found to true happiness. Calming myself down is essentially the science of happiness

    Dear Thay. For a long time I listened to your dharma talks but never really give your meditations a chance. I now realise the true potential for insight that they offer
    While I’m sitting in silence my mind can wonder off in all kinds of directions an I may not notice for a while
    When I practice your meditation I am much more likely to realise when my mind has wondered off an each time I say a line from one of your verses I am nourishing my body an mind with the medicine of that line rather than drifting off into random thoughts

    This is my favorite meditation. I love to hear his guided meditations because he speaks so simple yet beautiful. Almost three months since I have found this and I still come back every week 🌟💛 much love- ZRD

    Dear Plum Village, thank you for these uploads. I have used your vides to practice mindfulness for 2 years now. I even wrote a proposal on mindfulness for one of my college classes, proposing that the college implements a daily mindfulness practice.

    Thank you for this. I love this framework of basic practice and intend to make it a regular practice each day. I will also do another session or so to practice other techniques appropriate for my training - pain control etc. This is life changing. TNH was a great gift to the world.

    I meditate every day with this one! Each day mindful energy gives me a different present; a different insight.
