      Not only do these riders cause inconvenience. They also think they look pretty darn cool on a piece of junk modified to look like a motorbike. How anyone can actually ride such a thing on the road is really beyond me. I would be embarrassed to be seen next to one, let alone ride it. 1st comment. czcams.com/video/jGrLoCDIUOY/video.html&lc=UgwPQux3YOi-DWMtEvF4AaABAg

    Love my Santa Cruz Bullit XT coil build. It'll take me down almost anything, and makes climbing nearly as fun as the uphills. It's the only bike with true VPP and, in my opinion, the only bike with a totally proven suspension linkage in the VPP kinematics. It seems these days with ebikes, suspension linkage is not played up as much as in the 90s, when the linkage designers were in a race for their market share. Sure with a motor assist linkage is not as important to some, but to me that's exactly what is the performance heart of an mtb.
    Sweet bike this is, However, I'm missing one arm and one leg (+a kidney and my car) because I had to sell those to afford said bike. Haha.

    Rob, I've had a small ride on the 2021 SC Bullitt and the Scott E-Ransom 920 and really liked both of them but it wasn't long enough to give you a real good in depth perspective but I'd probably go with the Ransom mostly do to budget and it seemed to fit me a little better right out of the box.

    Great edit work . But I miss some points
    1.what shifting combo is on the bike ? Spezial shimano has crazy delivery times from around 86 weeks for dérailleurs and we know how quick they snap Spezial these long Cage 12 speed ..
    2.bunnyhop ability of the bikes ..most of them are feeling so dead on the trail and it's super hard to pop them and generated speed om the trails
    3. Super important the overall system weight...most of the guys buying emtb are big or heavy and then the shocks are quick on there limits
    4.how long does it take to get a replacement motor ! Spezial Ep8 and Brose are braking down really quick software or hardware fails ..
    5.how is the quality of the Wheelset because mainly the cheaper bikes coming with really let's say simple hubs and poor quality for heavy 250w emtb and often the bearings break and the spokes get loose and rip out so you have to spend directly big money to keep going
    6.a lot of bike brands use the cheapest disc rotors where you only can use resin pads and mostly the brake power ist not enough
    These are some points I never see in tests so maybe you us them as a influence. Thanks and keep up the good work

    @Rob Rides EMTB…
    Great summary comparison of the 2022 eMTBs!
    -
    As the owner of a 2019 Powerfly FS7 and 2018 Top Fuel 9.8, and someone looking for something in between, I was going to buy a 2021 Levo SL Expert ($10k). However, shortages led me to demoing a 2022 Levo Pro ($13k) while waiting. Wow, what a bike! It’s not the “in between” bike I was looking for but boy does it do enduro/downhill riding well - a bit overkill for trail riding which is what where I normally ride out of convenience/proximity. I love the light-weight Top Fuel for its poppy playfulness but the Powerfly let’s me enjoy the ride longer and keep up with my 14YO son.
    -
    My questions for you… (for the trail riding and occasional downhill riding)
    1. Which would you choose: the 2021 Levo SL or the 2022 Levo?
    2. Or would you choose the 2022 Orbea Rise over both?
    -
    That light weight Orbea with its 60 NM of torque is serious bump over the 35 NM the SL has and closer to the 75 NM I’m used to on the PF FS7 and the 90 NM of the Levo. Finally, and I may be weighing this too heavily, but the new display of the 2022 Levo is awesome and not available on the 2021 Levo SL. It’s because of Levo and the Orbea that my initial plan for the SL “in between” bike is in question.

    Good information well presented, thanks. I've enjoyed the videos I have seen of yours. Keep it up.
    I like the idea of ebikes, though the outrageous cost of these bicycles never fails to amaze me.... In the grand scheme of things, how do they justify the prices? All I can assume is that they add up the retail cost of all the individual parts they don't design or make themselves, add some r&d premium for frame or whatever feature they had tweaked for their bike, then add some more profit margin and then up it again for current covid logistical costs? Then stick some more on for the expensive and environmentally questionable lithium battery tech to ride the save the plant buzzwords? 🤔😂
    I know they always said complicated machines (cars motorbikes etc) are always more useful and much less expensive than the sum of their parts. I get the impression the expense with ebike is a reversal of that, and they're nowhere near as complicated or useful in real world terms. Though I suppose whether it's viewed as a toy or a tool might influence the discussion, but either way, costs are supreme! To be fair, the prices of their lower tech pedalled only power predecessors were well into ridiculous territory, so they probably decided to continue the trend.
    Of course I'm probably wrong. Definitely in the eyes of those who've already overpaid for one.
    Still, if you value it and it provides you what you want, then I hope everyone has a lot of fun with it. Just make sure you keep it securely locked up!
    I guess the more people that overpay initially, the sooner the costs will hopefully come down to more realistic pricing for future customers! Keep buying guys, thanks 👍 😂
    By the way, for those that are too sensitive, this is not 'hate'.

    It will be nice for me to go 45km/h speed pedelec speed for the home to forest part of the journey.
    I know there is an LMX 64 and a LMX 56 coming. Will that be best for me? Or is one of these bikes easy to tune a bit faster than 25km/h?

    Great review. Still, many people asking about the 2022 YT Decoy. Regardless of the 540Wh battery, which BTW has a 75mile range on Eco mode, now mounting the new Shimano EP8 motor and offered in two configurations and geometries: The classic Mullet and the new 29er, which has a new geometry (the 29er was released last year), optimal for all-mountain, trails and still good on descents with a 150mm fork and 145mm rear suspension. I cannot understand why the Decoy 29er has not been included in this top list. Especially now that I have purchased the top end YT Decoy 29er Core 4, AKA "the giant killer". I believe this is the only bike that can beat the Spczd Levo S-Works, with similar specs but half the price. :-)

    • @mikeh5034
      @mikeh5034 Před 2 lety

      Because no one like riding full fat E bike in ECO mode, especially for 75 miles. My buddy has the Elite..he rides eco, I ride trail on my 2021 Levo comp. and I wait for him, or he hides batts in the woods and swaps. YT was one of the 1st to mention a 700 batt, and turns out to be the last to produce one. Doesn't give much confidence in the brand. Plenty of other bikes ride just as good or better without the range issues.

    • @nevh7707
      @nevh7707 Před 2 lety

      @@mikeh5034 E-bikes are more for riding up difficult hills, not for covering distances. If you want to cover distances you ride a normal bike. These toys allow you to ride up a trail and come down more times than if you ride an ordinary bike.
      And if you want to ride long trails, on Eco mode it’s the equivalent of an “organic” bike.

    • @mikeh5034
      @mikeh5034 Před 2 lety

      We will have to agree to disagree. The biggest benefit they provide IMO is covering alot of ground in a short time. This is useful to the full time worker that has a family and doesn't have all day to ride what a e bike can do in 2 hrs.

    • @nevh7707
      @nevh7707 Před 2 lety

      @@mikeh5034 You are talking about flat range. Well, I am talking about going downhill more often as I can go up again in less time. It’s difficult to drain the whole 540Wh battery. If you need more juice, your friend is doing the right thing bringing an extra battery. And never forget that it all depends on the level of assisted pedalling you need/want. If you want maximum range, go for a motorcycle. I am a road biker, so I have a decent pair of legs to move my bike around. I got the Decoy so I don’t have to bother about painful cross-country climbs and have fun. I’d rather suffer on my road bike. Anyway, I don’t think YT releases 540Wh batteries if there weren’t a majority of riders that don’t drain the whole thing. They wouldn’t sell, and as far as I know, those bikes are sold out in no time. ;-)
      Hopefully, YT will release those 700Wh batteries in the next future. Better more than less.
