- Timothee Chalamet has had an incredible career up until this point. Starring in films like Little Women with Saoirse Ronan and Florence Pugh, to Dune alongside Zendaya, and of course his Oscar nominated role in Call Me By Your Name. Timothee Chalamet is widely adored by many for his down to earth nature, and his nervous, fanboy approach to Hollywood. He seems like an average guy hanging out with the top celebrities. However in this video I break down why I think he's changing himself to not be so nervous and unfiltered, to avoid doing something that could get him cancelled. However I believe there is a better way to navigate this point of his career and I point it out in this video.

My concern for Timothée is that he might become overexpose. I'm glad however, he seems aware of that by only attending red carpet events when he's doing a press tour promoting his movies. He only appears at award shows when he in a movie that is nominated. Other than that, his where abouts is always a mystery.

I think he's shown that he knows what he's doing on that front. He's been big for a number of years now and he has always only chosen a very small selection of extremely high quality projects to work on, and has done the same with his public appearances being few and far between, but always classy and well executed. I don't see why it would change.

I hope fame doesn't change him. I know it will to some degree, but I hope he stays true to himself and takes brakes from being in the public eye to just be himself and ground himself. A good foundation and some self-reflection is paramount to stay healthy and himbled in the industry. So I hope he finds good moments to just breathe out and be real and honest and not let all the fame change him
Me too. However I think he’s conscious enough to stay true to himself and not get jaded by fame.
@@thejessegrant Yeah, I bet you're right. I also agree with you on the part about him having a more diplomatic mask in public. He does do pictures and talk with fans who are there, but people online might definately take it as him putting on the usual Hollywood mask. I get that he is very conscious about staying professional, but as you pointed out it might eventually backfire. I hope it is just because big events are stressful and that he can still be himself in interviews etc. Because people love him for who he is and not just his work, so I guess it can be healthy to not forget to be himself openly. But celebrity life must be hard because of things like people building one up just to tear them down, almost like they are bored of them. So I hope he doesn't lose that awkward side to him which is very endearing and seems like his true self.

People aren't their surroundings. That would make all children of criminals criminals too. So he has weak choices in women? And that would make women trash for falling for trashy men.. Which they are not... So why treat him like he is her? Like sure, he could be. Sometimes like calls to like, so it could be true. But sometimes opposites attract, so it might also not be. We don't really know. We can't blame people for dating and not wanting to be lonely. I mean Johnny Depp dated Amber Heard and the trials showed us that he was nothing like her 🤷♀️ I mean I hate drama and yet everyone I date loves that? Even though they say they don't, then prove they do. So I guess I am just weak for the wrong peeps. Doesn't make me into them. The difference here though is I walk after too many red flags 😅 But we never know, you might be right, you might be wrong. Still don't think that we date ourselves, only what we think we deserve 😅
I feel like the “celebrity poker face” is necessary as a human to stay sane. Doing this probably sets boundaries between your job and your home life. Cuz when a celebrity is doing an interview, they know they’re not having a normal conversation, so they put on the poker face.
He is very well prepared for Hollywood which nobody understand.
Jesse TC loves his fans!!! That is so obvious. He came out in the middle of Bones & All premiere in Venice to sign autographs & take pics because he couldn’t get around to meet & greet. He knows how important his fans are. He broke all records at LFF for Bones & All with most fans in attendance. I felt he was more mature & confident than when he was 20 YO with CMBYN. He should become more confident & mature that’s life! He is also very smart & savvy. I believe & hope he will be fine. He has the heart of all ages, & types of people. He just needs to continue to get the good scripts🤞🏻✌🏻
No very much agreed the video was more about how you can tell he cares and is being careful to not change from fame. You can tell he’s studied other actors like Jennifer Lawrence and is trying to not do what they did
They have publicists who advise them on these changes. It isn't the celebrity's personal decision as much as a deliberate strategy they pay a publicist to help them develop.
However, they don't HAVE to do what a publicist or manager tells them to do. He already got rid of his original manager as he didn't agree with his decisions.
Jennifer Lawrence seems to always had an arrogant streak, which she no longer felt the need to hold back after she won her Oscar and was on a hot streak. People eventually became fed up with her no filter approach as her hot takes started becoming more and more jarring and no longer quirky or relatable. It should also be noted that around 2016 she was also in a string of films that underwhelmed and under-performed. Being at the height of her popularity at the time, one film failure should not have affected her too badly, but 5 consecutive failures, I doubt even the biggest stars in the world could weather such a thing.
So for JLaw it was her arrogance coupled with a string of film failures that has driven down her star power and bankability. As far as I have seen, Timothee while he also cultivates an image of being quirky and down to earth, he is a lot more humble than JLaw and is smarter when it comes to maintaining his public image. And ever since he was nominated for best actor all those years ago, he has yet to make a bad film. This means his credibility as an actor and a celebrity are not in question.
Agreed! But I’m trying to get at how fame and celebrity will inevitable change you and Timothee Chalamet seems worried about that. But so far he’s done all the right things
The other thing that coincided with her downfall, was the illegal release of those naked photo's stolen via hacking. I have no idea what she was doing in them, but I think it marred her reputation in the industry. Also some people thought she actually leaked them on purpose and again that has tarnished her for those that think that. I personally do not think she leaked them, she's not Kim Kardashian.
The difference is that Jennifer wanted to look funny but Timothée is genuinely goofy and funny, something that he carries off screen and that even the people who work with him confirm. The closeness and love that he gives to his fans is something that I have never seen from any artist. The truth is that Timmy is no longer that nervous child of 2018, his experience has led him to look more confident in himself, but looking at his recent interviews, it is seen that he is still so genuine and sweet.
Agreed however it would suck to see that kindness slip into arrogance which we’ve seen time and time again. But if he can check himself he’ll be fine
Jennifer is an extroverted, she seems more like that friends that likes to make themselves the clown in the group while Timothée seems more like an introverted, that gets energetic sometimes, personally I do not see any similarities in them more than both suddenly become famous, but they aren't the only ones to have become famous just like that.
Timmy is a guy and Jenny is a girl that's the difference. Both are playing characters.

He's not obsessed with fame or his image.Outside promoting his work,he vanishes from social media.His private life stays private.He's grown up from that 2017 kid,and he's learned the rules of the Hollywood game,but he's always genuine with his fans,always grateful.
It makes sense to make as many movies and as much money as you can out of the gate, then disappear with the gullible public’s money and never work again.

Jennifer had a lot of backing and a team that helped her curate a specific image to the public. Then, in my opinion, she got arrogant and starting saying things that came off rude and haughty. Timothée has a team too, but he comes off as more self-aware and seems to care about the things going on in society. Not saying that Jennifer doesn't, I've just never seen her speak on these issues the way Timothée has. Hollywood is a toxic place with toxic people, and I hope he has the support of his loved ones to help keep him healthy and grounded in reality.

tbh I would take most accounts about celebrities and their temprement with a pinch of salt whether it be good or bad, because they are mostly from peoples, fleeting interactions with them that only give one lasting impression of them forever which they then decide that is their entire personality. People have good days and bad days. I'm sure there are many people who have had one brief interaction with me and thought I was lovely and another who that I was horrible. I don't believe that the majority of people either fall into the lovely or horrible category, we all have multiple facets of our personailities which may be more pronounced in certain situations.
And to a certain extent we all put on a persona and we all have our guard up especially in public.

Timothee is very conservative. And also well groomed for Hollywood . But in his heart he only cares about the art of acting. Jennifer did not have supportive people to media train her like Timmy did.

I'm not sure he's that conservative. I mean he's just been filmed smoking a cigarette, not vaping and X amount of months ago he had hooked up with a really skanky girl at Coachella. I imagine he does coke occasionally like most celebs and who knows what else. He's probably more of a playboy than people believe he is, he just keeps everything private.

I notice Timothee is dressing more conservatively now too and what's very significant is that after Amie Hammer had his scandal, all of a sudden Tmothee stopped doing shout outs to the LGBTQ community, which he used to do frequently and I read where he had moved away from hanging around with old friends (he was one of the few straight guys at that performing arts High School he went to, so he distanced himself from his old gay friends from there). Perhaps he was scared some of them were siding with Armie, as some people brushed that horror story under the carpet and said he was being kink shamed, when in reality he had behaved in a predatory, abusive and dangerous manner, without the consent of the women involved. Also Timothee has become so wealthy now, that it's hard for him to come across as the guy who is just like us and have us still believe that.
Respectfully, I never liked Jennifer Lawrence. She was always obnoxious. Timothee is more talented than she is, and he’s more strategic.
Didn't get the hype for her, she seems like she was trying for Florence Pugh energy but it just wasn't hitting it for me (I know she was popular way before Flo but yeah).
I think he is a better actor than Jennifer, it is a major benefit that he comes across as being more likable. But I think he is performing in the movies he acts in. I watched the King, and my god I rewatch that movie because of his delivery. It is impeccable. He did well in Dune, as long as he stays away from being political and he keeps being likable in the public eye. He will succeed.

I just don't think he is that great of an actor. Pretty Face actors who have long careers generally pick roles that make them lose their pretty boy image in order to be taken more seriously. Leo, Brad, Christian Bale, Mel Gibson and even Zach Efron chose roles that tried to lose that image. In today's Hollywood, you are not a star because of your talent. You are a star because someone decided you have the correct image and personality to be a star. He needs to realize this or he is merely a puppet right now. I think Tom Holland recently expressed his struggles with becoming a Hollywood Puppet and it makes him more human, but as a result, I think Tom's career will soon be fading because I see him slowly taking the Red Pill and the elites in Hollywood will not allow someone who questions to be part of Hollywood.
