also you can illuminate your signs. type in the sign text: wood. you'll have a sign that says "wood" in green letters :)

@@DanLo-tube No, in addition you can use Emoji for your signs as well. Combining and along with WIN+. to open the Emoji menu in windows will allow you to create some awesome signs.

NO LONGER WORKS: The "Floaty" trick where you can the text show up to the left of the sign out in the air by adding in a bunch of spaces has been fixed by the Devs.

For the 0,5 meter jump upwards, have you tried the corewood? You can snap a wood pole both on top and the bottom of a Horizontal Corewood.

Very helpful
Found an easier way that doesn't require and poles/beams! The only thing you have to do is shift+place a 1x1 Floor tile on top of the floor tile that you are gonna place your Large Chest. After that place your Sign on top of that floor tile .
You can now destroy the "shifted floor tile" and the sign will 'levitate' 1 floor tile above the floor - this is the perfect height for the sign if you are using the large chests!
Tip: For 0.5m snaps, use the corners of a Hearth. Or core wood.
Excellent tips! Clicking signs instead of chests gets annoying.

This is the first one from me for Valheim so far, but more to come!
There is an easier way to make a 0.5m jump upward by using the 26 degree X piece. it has a snapping point in the centre that is half its original height.
Oh nice, ill have a look at that. Beeble had a good method to which was to use the core wood beams as they have a snap point above and below roughly 0.5 meters apart.
The text with the signs has been patched rip

Serious question... no hate.
I've played Valheim a few playthroughs now and I just don't see where there's enough content to warrant this much meticulous storage. I mean, after you get to this sort of base building/storage system you've won... what else is there to possibly do?
i think it was patched. when you break the wall, the sign falls off

As of today. Every time i destroy the wall that holds the sign up to the chest, the sign breaks as well, no idea why, most likely patched. So that no longer works. But great video nonetheless.
Wow, im so late to respond to this, i do apologise.
If the sign is breaking then it's either not low enough to the ground to gain support from that or any beam etc youve put through the chest from behind isn't reaching the sign.
I did this technique last night, so it does still work, something else seems afoot here

The IQ lv is over 9000!
This looks painful and any future additions and realms will ruin all the effort. I usually put 3 boxes on top of each other and a sign at the top that says "bones" or "metal" and keep it generic. It's still easy to find stuff.
