This is what I make for Christmas dinner with the family if I'm too lazy to make the other thing I would usually make at Christmas (pavlova). The family loves it every single year, it's incredibly easy to make and it is DELICIOUS. Sometimes I'll add blueberries to it as well. I don't mash the strawberries, when I make it it's just whipped cream, the cut strawberries and the crushed meringue, I add 3 ingredients all together and mix it. You can just crush the meringues with your hand, it's easy to do and you don't want them to be too small, they will dissolve but you want the texture of them to be there when you serve it up. Which is why I always make it last minute. I do it this way because it's batch cooking, for a lot of people, I don't make individual servings, if I did the strawberry puree the whole thing would be pink, which isn't what is intended.
